Impressed with the Quality&Value

I shopped forever for a small PA to use primarily as an amplifier for my Motif ES8 and although this is a value priced system, I'd have to say I'm totally satisfied with the features on the EMX512SC. The sound reproduction rivals other systems costing twice as much. Lots of headroom too. Compression on channels 1-4 is a nice feature not found on other similar units. The FCL-feedback locating indicator however is a bit confusing as continuous level inputs such as a keyboard or CD player, and even an efficient microphone will cause the lamps to remain lit. It's actually more of a continuous input indicator and not necessarily an indication of feedback. I placed a call to Yamaha support and their tech returned my call in about 45 minutes. He was able to explain this to me as he owned one himself. Service and common sense support is important to me. The S115V Club Series speakers are a perfect match to the system and have that "warm wood box" sound that I didn't hear from the plastic cabinets. I would however invest in a better microphone like a 58 or equivalent. I'd have to recommend this system to anyone concerned with sound quality and 'Ease of Transport' I'm glad I selected Yamaha.
