Portable, convenient, and packed with power and effects!

The durable, lightweight Yamaha EMX312SC 12-Channel Powered Mixer has dual 300W amps, 16 Yamaha SPX effects, built-in graphic EQs, and loads of input options. Flexible power The power mode switch lets you use the dual power channels as a stereo amplifier or use one channel for the main speakers and one for the monitors, with separate monitor mix setup via the channel Monitor controls. SPX digital effects 16 Yamaha SPX effects--including reverb, echo, chorus, flanger, phaser, and even distortion--let you add the finishing touches to your live presentation. Graphic EQs Graphic equalizers are provided for both the main and monitor power channels so you can effectively control feedback or tailor the sound to match the room and program material. Input options The Yamaha EMX312SC offers a total of 12 input channels--4 for monaural microphone (with phantom power) or line input, plus 4 pairs that can function either as monaural mic inputs or stereo line inputs--providing a versatile mix of input capabilities for a wide range of applications. If only mic inputs are needed, you can use up to 8 mic channels. If you want to play recorded background music during breaks using a stereo input and have a keyboard player with stereo outputs, you still have 6 mic/line inputs available. If all 4 stereo pairs are used to handle stereo line sources, you still have 4 channels available for mono mic or line input. It's a versatile system that can adapt to your needs with ease. FCL (Feedback Channel Locator) system The Yamaha FCL (Feedback Channel Locating) system makes locating and eliminating feedback easier than ever. FCL indicators provided on each input channel indicate which channel feedback is occurring in, so you can identify it visually and adjust levels or EQ as required. Another handy features is a Standby switch that mutes channels 1 through 8 so that, for example, after rehearsal or between sets you can mute performer's inputs 1 through 8 without having to change fader settings, while stereo inputs 9 through 12 remain active for background music playback. Yamaha Speaker Processing Yamaha Speaker Processing (YSP) provides optimized matching with speakers, for clean, solid reproduction that will deliver your music with maximum impact. Durable, lightweight design At only 22 pounds and equipped with conveniently located handles, the EMX312S is easy to transport. It's built to withstand the rigors of the road and deliver reliable performance, night after night.

  • One could do better for about the same money

I bought a EMX312SC four years ago for use with an odd confederation of musicians who put on episodic jams at a local pub. The onstage line up is ever changing as people flow in and out out every configuration from solo to quintet to a "if you've got it, bring it on up" house jam. I thought that a powered mixer would keep things simple while giving me the flexibility I needed to produce a show of this sort, but I was wrong. My complaints include the following: 1The microphone preamps are of poor quality. I made a significant improvement in the sound early on by running everything into the power amp section of the Yamaha via an outboard mixer. 2)The SPX effects are about as cheesy as one would expect, and the effects bleed into other channels at time even when the effects knobs are at 0. 3)The feedback control locater feature are more distracting and alarming than helpful. The lights on any channel carrying heavy transients flash constantly, and at times even the mic or even unused channels light up 4)The whole unit seemed to lead to more feedback problems than I have had since going to separates. Positives include: 1)The power amp seems quite decent, considering. It is stable and reliable, and rarely clips even when driven hard. The sound is excellent when one eschews the onboard preamps and uses a good outboard mixer. 2)The speaker processing feature works surprisingly well, as does the graphic equalizer. 3)The ability to split the power section into main and monitor output is a really nice feature. One can run two 8 ohm mains and two 8 ohm monitors and get nice sound levels for both the audience and the performers. 4)The 312 works beautifully when dedicated to our drummer's Roland V set. He runs a Yamaha BR15 on the main channel and a BR12M on the monitor channel. The YSP feature contributes to some real lower end punch without phony boominess, and a bit of reverb lends a real sense of depth to the e drum sound. In conclusion, the 312 might be fine for relatively simple acts, and it works wonderfully well with the Roland V drumse;, however, the mediocre quality of the preamps is a significantly limiting factor. I'd recommend spending just a bit more on separates. One could buy a small Mackie mixer and a 200 or 300wt/ch QSC or Crown amp for about the same money and come out way ahead.

  • awesome

Very well built. I purchased one a few days ago and it has been amazing. I sing in a rock band and it pushes over the drums so well. Its clarity is quite phenomenal. I completely suggest this.

  • not the best

ive been using this for a while now and not really impressed. hard to dial in with a band. clips easily even low volumes. you can get it to sound great but its a chore doing so. the effects are good but not very strong so dont expect your dely's to stand out front either. you'll see if you get this. i hate this mixer. solo acts, it works fine. but i want something else. this thing sucks for band use.
