I just purchased the EMX212S and was really surprised. The true vocal sound is great. The button to replicate the subs are fantastic. I don't like carrying the subs, so this feature is perfect. The weight is great. Beats packing the main unit I have that weighs 300lbs. The ease of set up is great also. Luckly I am running all Yamaha speakers & monitors.
I am a mobile DJ who does mostly weddings. I usually use the EMX5000-12 for the gigs I do. Recently, I was asked to do a wedding ceremony and a reception immediately following. I used the EMX212S with a pair of Yamaha BR-12s for the ceremony and I was very happy with its performance. A great feature it has is its weight. At about 22 pounds, it is a joy to setup and tear down if you compared it to my other equipment. The sound effects work great. This helped me get the Pastor and the couple to sound great with little bit of reverb. Also, the fact that it has four stereo channels is a big plus. The price is very reasonable. My only complaint is that it does not have a place to connect a light. Even with that, I still think it's an excellent mixer/amp for all your small to medium jobs.
Hey, it's Yamaha. Which means great sound and quality. But the cool thing about this powered mixer is that it only weighs about 22 lbs. I couldn't believe it when I picked it up. We bought this for our girls HS softball field. Usually the moms are the ones who have to set up the system and this is the perfect weight for them to lift and handle. It's very easy to use, especially for those who are not sound people. This is the perfect mixer for us.
