NEW REVIEW - Aweseome....But

I've been in the industry for over 1/3 a century, wow has it changed. As for drums this is one of the VERY positive changes. As for Tube amps and real wood guitars, that's Rock! I needed a new set so I didn't have to constantly go over to my studio. Being an engineer (Wild how most of us lead that dual life), I wanted to try a pro-sumer set to lay new tracks. This set borders more on the pro than consumer side......BUT! The HitHat RHH-135, I have heard can be adjusted to actually work...Still trying to use it without the end of a rake! Main reason I give this a 4.....THE WORST DOCUMENTATION EVER!!! Yamaha, et.al. how often this subject arises. Bottom line AWESOME set! WORST documentation! Easiest way to set up? Learn Katakana or ignore the abysmal documentation! Actually NONE of the documentation languages work! But the kit is a BLAST!

NEW REVIEW - great investment

I play till my fingers bleed on the Yamaha DTX IV due to the simple convenience of it. Everything about it fits my need of a simple kit to practice on. It's just so nice to live in an apartment with my roommate who's the guitarist of holy hell rod. We can jam at any time of day and not have to worry about disturbing others. Great investment for the serious drummer needing a quiet practice kit. It's also very fun to play with the presets and songs.

Best eDrum Value

You can spend three times as much but the extra $$$'s won't by you more. Solid/sturdy eKit that can take a beating and sounds absolutely great. With the enhanced features (IV vs III series) there is no reason to purchase any other eKit. You will not be disappointed. From a sound tech, musician monitor mix perspective, life is simple!

technology is a crazy thing.

Yamaha really outdid themselves with this. The sound is so realistic. the pads are so sophisticated that it makes a different sound when you hit it, rather than a different volume. if youre a drummer, and you dont have enough room for a full kit, this is your kit. this thing is gonna be mine soon... i suggest you make the same decision.

Sweet kit, just need to dial it in

I bought this kit when the noise from my acoustic became an issue. It arrived very fast via UPS in 3 boxes. The frame/rack is all pre assembled, which is nice. The kit's wires are all bundled and labled which was very nice/easy to set up. My only concern initialy was my double kick pedal seemed to miss/not trigger when doing quick doubles on the pedal. I found that if you use the DYNAMIC trigger setting this fixes it all. You will want to max the gain on your hi-hat, but all in all I am very happy!
