Product Information

A complete 5-piece electronic kit packed with features at price that'll allow you to explore electronic drumming without the steep price tag of most kits!

The Yamaha DTXPLORER is an electronic drum set that brings Yamaha's renowned electronic drum technology within reach of the beginner, hobbyist, and educator. The 5-piece electronic drum kit features high-impact single-zone rubber pads with natural feel and rebound, a kick pedal, hi-hat controller module, rack, and coded cabling for easy set-up.

At the heart of the DTXPLORER is its compact trigger module, with a 16-bit/32-note polyphony tone generator that produces amazingly realistic, physically modeled voices. Choose from 214 drum and percussion sounds, 22 preset songs, and 32 preset drum kits covering rock, funk, jazz, reggae, and Latin styles. An array of onboard digital effects let you tweak your sound to your liking. Create and store up to 10 custom kits. The module also includes the Groove Check practice feature, a multifunction metronome, backlit LCD display, and simple plug-and-play connections. Auxiliary and MIDI inputs expand the kit's versatility, allowing you to connect to a PC or other device. The headphone output allows quiet practice.

32 Factory Kits, 10 User Kits, 214 Voices
The 32 factory-programmed kits give you a wide variety of kits that can be used in almost any musical situation. The 10 user kits allow you to build custom kits using any of the 214 voices for your particular needs as a musician.

Groove Check with Rhythm Gate
The DTXPL module has Yamaha's popular Groove Check function, but takes it to the next level as a learning tool. You can engage the Rhythm Gate so that when you play out of time the module will mute the drums until you get back in time with the click.

Multi Zone Inputs
The snare input will accept a three-zone pad (not included) giving you the head, rim shot, and cross stick sounds. The cymbal inputs will accept dual zone cymbals and allow cymbal choking.

Includes a Bass Drum Pedal
The DTXPL comes complete with an FP-6210 strap drive pedal so you don't have to purchase a pedal separately.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

NEW REVIEW - Incredible Buy

I have been playing drums for over 10 years. I have played on everything from an inexpensive kit which i starter on to now a more expensive DW setup. I just set up a home studio and I have to say that the DTXplorer is excellent! The triggers are all very sensitive and the sounds are great. It is also very user friendly. One thing i did that i suggest is switching the middle tom and mounting it above the floor tom to program as a ride, therefore you have a splash, crash, and ride, and only two toms.

NEW REVIEW - Amazing Set!

This is one of the best new additions to my home studio. The sound quality, response is amazing. They have quite a bit of settings and can be easily customized to my playing style. I hooked these babies up to my mac and am running DFH (Drums from Hell)software to add to the arsenal of sounds. I know have a collection of over 2500 hundreds sounds. The kit is sturdy and is very practical in small apartments or basements. I am a big fan of Yamaha products and their support.

NEW REVIEW - GREAT DRUMS!!!

I play these when i go to to my drum lessons they are great if u dont have room for a big drum set. They are also great because u can adjust the the sound they make and to have the hihat opened or closed. It also has a built in metronome. I highly recommend it for any drummer!

Nice

Nice kit for me, I am just getting back to playing after being off a long time. This kit is easy to set up and play. I am used to a acoustic kit so dialing in the brain was new, but it is easy with some practice. I have a small space and this sets up and breaks down easy for transport, just fold it up and go. Great price if you are not sure you want to play all the time. Bass pedal is very responsive and the pads bounce like acoustic kit. Multiple high hat settings allow you to set opening and closing distance. A good deal over all.

Amazing drum kit!

I live in an apartment and can't play acoustic drums, so I decided to purchase an electronic drum set. This is kit is amazing! I decided to go for bust and get this one instead of the cheaper ones and it paid off. It's a great buy, the preset kits are awesome, and the ability to create your own kits is a nice touch too. The feeling of the "heads" is nice, not to loud, enough room for the double pedal on the kick pad, and all around very adjustable. I've noticed that if you hit the tom pads really hard, it sometimes causes the the snare and crash pads to trigger. Just ever so lightly. It's a great buy and every drummer should own one to jam and practice with.

Great for the cost $$$

After not playing for sveral years and only playing acoustic for 20+ years I decided to try something different and bought the Yamaha Explorer set a year and a half ago. Good sound once you put an amp with it, lots of options for sound from every pad with good feel. It did'nt take long though to realize that the cymbals had to go, they either cut out or didn't respond at all, once removed and "real" cymbals used the set came together and sounds great!

I'd recommend it!

I got my DTXplorer 2 weeks ago, and I have to say that I am super impressed with it. the pads are all responsive and have a nice rebound to them, the whole kit and kaboodle is a breeze to put together thanks to the stupid-proofing the manufacturers put into creating this kit, and it's easy for someone to jump right in and start banging away on the kit right away. The only problems I have encountered so far are that I feel the crash cymbal trigger is too loud by default, and I occasionally hear the cymbals lightly trigger without me hitting them. These could just be issues that can be resolved by tweaking the positions of the trigger pads and playing with the drum brain, so they may not be issues at all.

Very awesome kit

I got this kit for christmas last year and have been really impressed! I wasn't so sure about it at first, but now i am more than pleased!! All of the different sounds that you can have, it sounds so real too! The only bad thing that is when you hit one of the toms, the crash/ride sometimes trigger. But man, i use this a ton. I just used it for a performance too, had no problem at all. Also is really easy to take down, transport, then put back together. I would say this kit is for any intermediate or a good beginner.
