The ultimate in acoustic and vintage electronic piano touch and tone.

The development of Yamaha's CP series started with Yamaha's no-compromise 88-key CP1 stage piano. The design of this world-class electronic keyboard incorporates the best of both tradition and innovation. The core sound technology inside the Yamaha CP piano was completely redesigned from the ground up.

Each individual part of the Yamaha CP1 electronic stage piano was specifically designed to reflect Yamaha's commitment to making a timeless 88-key piano keyboard with lasting value. The classic wooden side panels and the vintage textured top call up memories of legendary keyboards from the past. The brilliant vacuum fluorescent display, brushed aluminum volume knob, and lighted Yamaha logo reflect the state-of-the-art, cutting edge technology under the hood. The knobs, switches, and intuitive user interface are all laid out for optimum ease of use in performance. All these design elements come together in this Yamaha piano keyboard to make a stunning visual statement on stage. The CP1 is an elegant blend of tradition and innovation with attention to detail and quality in every component.

A unique Spectral Component Modeling tone generation system recreates the sound of acoustic and vintage electronic pianos faithfully. This technology responds to the player's touch, allowing more creative expression than ever before. Yamaha even developed a special NW-STAGE wooden key action specifically to meet the demands of top pros. Simply put, this combination of touch and tone make the Yamaha CP1 a remarkably expressive stage piano with crowning quality.

  • CP1 Best Electric Sampled Piano Ever Made To Date!

As reviewed by ANTHONY on 4/29/2015

I've owned the CP1 for the past 5 months and without a doubt the most developed full sounding authentic Yamaha CFIII3 9' Grand and Rhodes 71-78 Pianos to date. I spent 8 hours at GC Pasadena CA. testing (Yamaha CP4-9' Grands CFX, CFIII3 & S6), (Roland RD800-9'Steinway Grand) & (New Korg Kronos-9gb 9' Berlin Grand) before I bought the CP1. The CP1 matches the Key bed feel to a real Steinway B and D Grand of which is the fastest solid accurate touch you can get in a modern day real grand piano today. No other keyboard will match the key bed feel or the sound realism of the CP1 in all the piano sounds that the CP1 includes. I like that the CP1 does not have a graded hammer action and it is a dream to play for hours without getting tired. I recommend that you play the CP1 thru a quality system sound system, JBL PRX712 or PRX735 with Alto 1604 or ZED 1604 to get the best possible sound which is what I use live and in the studio. It was easy to decide on the CP1 over the above mentioned for the fact that I either play straight piano or use my Yamaha motif xf for a gig and or both together for studio work and or international touring. I have owned Yamaha 9', Steinway B 7', Rhodes 71-75 and replaced all those with the CP1 with no regrets. Thanks to the GC Pasadena for all your help A.Dannunzio, Professional Musician and Entertainer Extraordinaire.

  • Amazing Keyboard

As reviewed by Heston on 5/25/2010

The quality of sounds and just the sheer amount of sounds able to be created from this is a must have for a STUDIO setting. I wouldnt reccomend buying this for everyday hobby use, unless you have the money to spend go for it.
