Through the years I have owned both the Yamaha P200, P250 and the P300. Speaking from the perspective of a professional pianist, there is simply no other digital stage piano at any price that can compete with the P300.I make a living playing the piano, and I demand a board that will cut through the mix when I need it, and the CP delivers. My genre is Traditional Country, Christian Country, Gospel (not contemporary!) The CP is at home in any situation you place it. There is one thing you must take into consideration. This piano alone weighs 90 pounds! Include the SKB case you are looking at 35 more!
I had gotten this keyboard about a year ago. It has great responsiveness and feels true to touch, more than any other keyboard I've ever played. It has on board speakers and i use them frequently instead of adding speakers which make a huge difference rather than having to spend additional for speakers. Has simple midi interfacing and is great to grow with / into. multiple presets are more than adequate. Also comes with Cubase for recording (has a little learning cure to it. The Keyboard it self is heavy though, and with the on board speakers is perhaps a little larger than the norm so consider this if you are traveling lots.
I tried a lot of keyboards ( I play piano for over 20 years)and in each keyboard I have been looking for a natural sound.the very best sound of piano i found in Yamaha P250.We have it in our church and i love it.When i wanted to buy one for myself I saw that it was discontinued so I bought the new CP 300 .It has some more capabillities then P250 but the sounds are almost the same. The piano and electric piano are the best but I can't say the same about the rest of sounds.Anyway i need it just for live music and for piano sound so for me this is the best keyboard.I hope that it is durable too.
