The Yamaha A12M speaker from the A Series is designed for live PA system use. They are 2-way speakers featuring bass reflex cab design, heavy grille, recessed handles, and black carpet covering.
The A12M has a 12" woofer, 1" high-frequency horn, 300W program handling (600W peak), and 125dB SPL.

I bought a pair of these to use as mains when I was was starting to build my live sound set-up; they were cheaper than the regular A12s at the time. I have them paired with the Yamaha EMX212S Powered Mixer, which provides just the right amount of power to these. Just a word of advice, when shopping for a power amp or mixer make sure that the power rating of the mixer does not exceed half of the peak power capacity of the speaker; an amp that is too powerful for the speaker could blow out the speaker if it is set to volumes that are too high. The peak of these speakers is supposedly 600W, but it is really 300W; this is because the units to rate the speakers are different than the units used to rate the power amp, don't ask why its just how they do it. Anyway this speaker is well built and sounds great with a good bass response. Perfect for people on a budget or really anyone interested in live sound.
I have always been a fan of JBL, bought these new Yamaha's from a few recommendations and let me tell you that I was impressed with the quality.....Yamaha has done a great job with these speakers. I use them for monitors and as output speakers and the bands love them....2 thumbs up, great price.
