  • A joy to play

As reviewed by RICHARD CALDWELL on 11/6/2011

Beautiful, warm resonant tone. Flawless construction and finish. Impresses everyone who hears and plays it, including players with many years of live experience. Onboard preamp is easy to use and provides a wide range of tones from purely electric to full acoustic. 100% satisfied with guitar and value.

  • Great sound, great electronics...buzzy battery case

As reviewed by peter pyo on 1/20/2012

I bought this several months ago. When I first bought it, I loved it. I hadn't noticed, however, a buzz that resonated throughout the whole guitar. I took it back to Guitar Center, where the tech said he had no idea what was causing it. They got me a new one, same model, and it had the SAME problem!! i suspected that there was a design flaw, and with the help of one of the Guitar Center associates, we realized that when you take out the battery compartment, the buzz went away completely. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact this guitar takes two double-A's instead of one 9 volt. For that, I give it 4 stars, because the electronics are uniquely awesome, with the ability to play with the mix between a piezo pickup and a mic...it's a sound lover's dream. The actual sound of the guitar, is also, in my opinion, a more pleasing and rich sound than other guitars that are more expensive than the Yamaha.

  • champagne for the price of beer

As reviewed by ivan resendiz on 3/22/2012

I bought this guitar 3 days back and i was a little iffy at first because there are not to many reviews about this guitar. I've owned a few guitars and I did go try the low end martins and taylors around the same pricerange and this one by far blows them away with solidwood, it has low action very easy to play great warm and clear sound the preamp and built in tuner is amazing pluged in sounds like a high end taylor. the guitar is well put together all around and it comes with a hard case which alone is over $100.
