Overview

This medium-weight Wuhan 18" Crash/Ride Cymbal is happy to perform double duty for you. As a crash, this cymbal has the size and weight to speak out over loud music, with a clear, bright tone and full sustain. As a ride, it has the clarity and articulation to serve well in small-group acoustic situations or in the studio.

The best crash ride cymbals money can buy? No.
The best crash ride cymbals so little money can buy? Absolutely.

Wuhan cymbals don't presume to challenge the sound quality, variety, or reputations of the fine professional-level cymbals on today's market. But when it comes to being affordable, that's another story.

Generally, "affordable" cymbals are made of less-expensive sheet alloys, using shortcut manufacturing methods and finishing steps in order to keep the cost down. With the resulting cymbals, you pretty much get what you pay for.

Wuhan cymbals are made of high-quality, cast B20 alloy. Handcrafted in China according to two-thousand-year-old traditional methods, this Wuhan crash/ride cymbal is buffed to a brilliant finish, and stamped with an unobtrusive but attractive logo.

Good Cymbal for a Great Price

By Taylor England

from Salem, Oregon

Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is very good, but Wuhan crashes tend to be very inconsistent, I would reccomend going in-store if you are going to buy one of these cymbals, mostly so you ca find the one you like, because these can have a wide range of sounds, from bright, to dark, and may have more sustain than others of the same type. Overall, it is very complex and you can use it for pretty much any application, overall this is one of my favorite rock crashes, and would recommend buying it if you need a good but cheap cymbal.

Great Cymbal For a Great Price

By Steven

from South Bend, Indiana

Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

Wuhan cymbals are great for the price. You can get a intermediate-professional cymbal for the price of a beginner. These crashes are no exception. They are very trashy and have beautiful tone (not to mention a great look). The only problem I have with these cymbals is they are very washy, but other than that they are amazing. You do have to be careful with Wuhans though because they are very inconsistent with their sound qualities becuase they are all hand hammered and hand lathed like Sabian HH's and HHX's. Overall these cymbals are amazing for the price and I would recommend them to anybody.

Pleasantly surprised

By Paul Laymon

from Fort Worth, Texas

Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

Needed a crash in a hurry with a small budget. Am not disappointed one bit, it may be a bit "Oriental" sounding, (duh it's a Wuhan), for what I am using it for but it has a nice attack and sustain. Not sure how durable it will be, give a few weeks on the road and in the studio and I will let you know. Thanks GC!

Update

By Paul Laymon

from Roanoke, TX

Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I have played 6 shows and one recording session with my new Wuhan as a secondary crash cymbal. Sounds great, it compliments my 18" AAXplosion crash very very well. I would not be shocked if I ordered another one in the near future. Who says you have to spend $200 bucks to get a decent instrument?

Excellent for the price!

By Joey

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I bought these cymbals as gigging cymbals for shows that may be a little dangerous for my nice set (beer, salt water). I played them for the first time last week and I am highly impressed. They sound nothing like the Wuhan crashes in the past. They are a medium thin weight and deliver a nice club grade crash without having to worry about things happening to them. I wouldn't take them into the studio, but for playing in front of a bunch of drunkards, these things rock! I bought two from the website because I had heard that they have different pitches like all mid-level-high level cymbals. So far, this has not been the case though. Both of the cymbals sound very much alike in pitch and response. As they age, they could change, but I don't think it will be that dramatic of a difference. I'm a hard hitter, and I have not noticed the "cardboard flapping" sound that you get sometimes when laying into cheaper cymbals.

I really liked how it sounds. Aggressive and explosive but you can pet him to sing just like you want, when you want a soft sounding crash.

          Mind Blown

          By Kevin

          Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I was afraid it wouldn't sound as good as it does in the YouTube videos I watched before purchasing, but it really does. Whether you're tapping, shouldering lightly, or crashing, the wash of sound is always full-bodied and delicious. So much character. The bloom of frequencies when crashing is especially beautiful. I haven't had it for very long (two practices and one show with a Rage Against the Machine tribute band), but so far I'd say it's the best cymbal deal I've ever gotten, by far. It sounds, plays, and looks like a more expensive crash. I still feel like this must be some glitch in the music universe.

          Still in shock!

          By Justin Davis

          from Houston, TX

          Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I've been playind drums since the age of 4..I'm now 25 and can say that I hv some experience with drumming and quality/non quality products..I decided to give these a try just for a practice set and WOW, I was absolutely blown away at how good these cymbals sound. I bought the 16in crash and the 18in crash/ride...IMO these cymbals are not "beginner" cymbals, although the price may lead you into thinking that. They are made with the b20 bronze just like my "professional" cymbals that I use and to me there's no big difference. The wuhans are slightly trashier, but still have that broken glass sound that I like..not to mention these cymbals look great as well..I'm still going to stick with my sabians, but I have no doubt that I'll be looking to purchase more of these Wuhans and they won't be for practice! I mean, for the price these babies are selling for, I don't see why not...they honestly should cost a whole lot more..they sound just that good..

          Nice Wash ride

          By Joey Feci

          from ATL, GA

          Comments about Wuhan Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I've bought three of these. They are great for playing in clubs where you dont want to bring nice cymbals beer, weather, drunk women, or other hazards. It has a great wash, but I wouldn't use them in a studio environment. This new one has some overtones that will hopefully disappear with use, but good none the less. Its brighter than the 16" which I also own.
