Wuhan has long been known as the definitive china cymbal for a reason: they provide the trashest, most devastating china cymbal around at a price that is a fraction of all other manufacturers. The Wuhan sound is a trashy, nasty metal accent that is almost all attack (and clang) with a slight decay. I opt for the 14", keeping the clang and pitch at a maximum while having a very short decay. The larger sizes will give you a longer decay and fuller body (also making the cymbal ride-able). This cymbal is guaranteed to make your guitar player turn around with a scared look on his face with every hit! Wuhan chinas are powerful, trashy chinas that have provided the definitive china sound at a great price for some time now.

It's the original China. What more can you say. It's loud ,trashy and in your face. I'm thinking about getting a 14" also to add something new (and not so loud) for guiter settings

              Comments about Wuhan China Cymbal:

Play metal mostly, couldnt see this cymbal used much outside of the genre. ending fills probably best if other styles are being played. I chose the 14 inch beacuse I have heard the 12 16 and 18 and heres my quick conclusion on the 4 for me personally.

I almost chose the 12 because the note is so high, makes for a clean sound without alot of volume
The 16 version is nice but it still sounds too dark for me.
The 18 inch version is nice because it has that china washy sounds that sustains better than the smaller cymbals, but its almost to loud for me.
ultimately I chose the 14 for the higher note and the reduced volume of a smaller cymbal, I feel like it sounds like a china enough to ride on it with eigth notes or use it as an effects for accenting and what not, although if youre looking for purely accenting I'd go with the 12 version.

                Comments about Wuhan China Cymbal:

I have been playing Wuhan Chinas for 30+ years. Absolutely love them. In those 30 years I have never cracked one, and I play in projects ranging from jazz to prog metal to everything in-between. Now if you are looking for a washy sound, these are not the cymbals for you. I have sizes from 12-20 inch so I can change depending on the job at hand. Hey if they were good enough for Mr. Peart (until he went to Sabian) who am I to argue. Great cymbal of you are looking for a quick, trashy accent.

                  Comments about Wuhan China Cymbal:

After years of looking at China cymbals in music stores, playing with them on other drummer's sets and researching on YouTube, I finally decided to part with some cold, hard cash and get one for myself.

Normally; I'm a Zildjian user, but after numerous visits to YouTube to see and hear what other drummers had to say as far as comparing Wuhan to Zildjian, Paiste, Agazarian and so forth, there was something about the Wuhan that kept bringing me back, so I took my chances and purchased a Wuhan 18" and let me say for the record, I'm glad I did.

From my research, I've noticed that folks noted that each Wuhan has it's own distinctive sound and the main complaint was that they have the tendency to crack easily. While I found the remarks about the sound to be true, I do believe that the complaints about cracking come from folks who beat the life out of their cymbals for no reason.

I jammed with 2 different bands (a Doom/ Sludge Metal and an Alternative band) and this bad boy fit in well with both and mixed with my Zildjian Custom A Fast Crashes perfectly.

You don't need to hit the 18" with the force of Thor's hammer to get the sound you are looking for. Deep trashy sound that we all look for in a China at a price that comes in WAY lower than what the big boys can offer. My only complaint is that I waited so long to purchase one.

I can't imagine why anyone looking for a trashy China would use anything else. This is EXACTLY what a china is supposed to sound like and the given the price it should be a no brainer. Do not spend big money for fancy "name brand" chinas. This is all you need.
