Wuhan has long been known as the definitive china cymbal for a reason: they provide the trashest, most devastating china cymbal around at a price that is a fraction of all other manufacturers. The Wuhan sound is a trashy, nasty metal accent that is almost all attack (and clang) with a slight decay. I opt for the 14", keeping the clang and pitch at a maximum while having a very short decay. The larger sizes will give you a longer decay and fuller body (also making the cymbal ride-able). This cymbal is guaranteed to make your guitar player turn around with a scared look on his face with every hit! Wuhan chinas are powerful, trashy chinas that have provided the definitive china sound at a great price for some time now.

The Best......Enough Said!

By joshua brown

from Detroit, MI

I'm a biiiiiiiigggggg metal fan! Love the stuff, it's my favorite and most preferred genre of music. I needed a china, however, I was on a budget. I turned to Wuhan, I had never heard of them, but I made the right choice. The story goes.....It was Christmas day, I was 16, my dad bought me a Zildjan heavy jazz ride, but I already had a ride cymbal (He doesn't know about drums). So, he took me to Guitar Center to exchange it for something. The ride cost enough to where i could get two cymbals for the price of one. So, I wanted a crash/ride and a china. I went with a meinl HCS crash/ride, and a 14 in Wuhan china cymbal. I didn't know if the china would sound good, because of the price. Boy, was I wrong. This thing sounded great, right out of the box. With the "Big Name" china's, you have to beat them to death when you first get them to make them sound like what you want, then when you finally get them to sound like what you want, you've destroyed the cymbal. Wuhan = Perfect China \m/

Love it

By Jonathan Friedman

I got the 16", and so far it works wonders. Its my favorite part of the kit now. I play in a pop-punk/metalcore band, and its the perfect addition. I love how it cuts through everything.

Wuhan China Cymbal

By Richard Marino

from Bordentown, NJ

I am a beginner drummer, playing for fun. So I like to add pieces to my set to experiment with. Reading drum tabs there are many with references to a China Cymbal. So I figured I would add one to my set. The sound is not what I expected, but now I see why they call it a China cymbal. It has a dominant sound and I use it for that purpose. Seems well made.

A studio memory.

By Daniel J. Pavilonis

from Cleveland, OH

I play in the band (www.facebook.com/until.tomorrow.band) and we went into the studio in July of 2013. I got this cymbal on January 30th, 2013. I noticed when we went into the studio, that it had a small .5" crash forming between the dimple. I had this on pretty tight, but loose enough where it would spin and bounce a bit, so it's not because it was hammered down. Although it last me almost a full year (now as I write this, December 21st, 2013) it's a great, inexpensive china. The tones are cut and defined, trashy and loud. I also played with this live many times and it ROARS! I would recommend this to ANY drummer who needs a nice and low priced china, but is good for the money.

Waste of money

By Autumn Welsh

from Anacortes, WA

This cymbal has a terrible sound, low quality, and does not last long at all. Wuhan claims to have a unique trashy sound to their cymbals, but when I hit it, it just sounds like i'm banging two rusty trash can lids together. Quality is poor, I could easily bend it in half. The life of the cymbal is very short. After about a week of playing, the cymbal cracked. This cymbal is a waste of money.

Loud and Proud!!

By Nicholas Luberto

from CT

Great china cymbal if you really like that garbage can sound and that thrashy sound. Pretty awesome for playing with metal music and harder rock. It is very loud also and before you buy this cymbal definitely check it out on youtube because it has a distint sound that some people might hate or that some people might love. Overall I have had it for a while and it is a good china for a cheap price. No cracks yet (knock on wood). Definitely go out and try this cymbal though. Good for the money. Try something new and maybe you will like the sound.

Not only the best for the money, IMO it's the best

By Brandon Allen

from Raleigh, NC

I've played tons of china cymbals over the years including a large portion of the top of the line Sabian and Zildjian crop. Nothing beats an 18'' wuhan china cymbal for having the most authentic, cutting yet veritile china effect for music at all volumes. I'm in a Progressive Metal band where I often ride the China, combine it with a large crash it and for accents. I'm also in a roots rock band with lots of ballads, funk numbers and classic Americana covers and I can softly play the Wuhan and it blends perfectly regardless of the situation. To compare, I have a Zildjian Oriental China Trash 18": The best selling, highest rated and most expensive Zildjian Chinese cymbal. I really don't like it very much at all and I actually only play it on my 'backup' kit. The only downside to the Wuhan is that they are not nearly as durable as the name brand stuff. I tend to go through one a year at least.
