An Excellent Value

By William

from Emmaus, PA

Comments about Wittner Taktell Piccolo Metronome:

If you are considering buying an electronic metronome, DON'T. This is what you want. I feel watching a swinging pendulum is one of the best ways to improve your sense of rhythm and because this metronome uses a wind-up mechanism, you never need to buy batteries! Also, the markings help teach you the names of the tempos (like andante, allegro, presto, etc.). For me, practicing with a *real* metronome -- rather than using an electronic "beep box" -- is the best way to improve my playing and I think the Wittner Taktell Piccolo is one of the best values on the market.

Nice for the price

By John

from Phoenix, Arizona

Comments about Wittner Taktell Piccolo Metronome:

Nice, good sound, a little smaller than I pictured, but does a great job. Wittner makes excellent products. Hard to find a non digital metronome, we needed to see the motion for our group versus the sound and lights of a digital. This does a great job.

Wittner Piccolo plays like a Flute

By daniel kaplan

from san francisco, ca

Comments about Wittner Taktell Piccolo Metronome:

I needed a metronome. So I went online and searched. Now WIttner is a fine, old company that has been making metronomes for some time. So I checked out their Taktell Piccolo metronome and bought it thinking it would do the trick. It is beautifully crafted, works with precision, easy to operate and not very large. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase, and at almost half the price of their more expensive and more traditional model, this works great and I am a very happy customer.

Comments about Wittner Taktell Piccolo Metronome:

This was under a special so I picked it up. I already had two simple digital metronomes. Wow this was so much better. It was more commanding if that makes sense. You felt like it was working with you and the digital ones seem more passive. It has a large mechanical click which sounds very confident in this world of digital bleeps. It says made in Germany which is a nice touch. This is one of the cheaper versions of their metronome and can be tossed in a music bag if needed. I'm glad I picked it up and wish I did far earlier.

        I love it

Comments about Wittner Taktell Piccolo Metronome:

It's not very large (stands just over 6 inches tall), and is adjustable from 40 to 208 beats/minute. The outer shell is made of plastic. It's a mechanical device, that is, you wind it up – it's driven by a spring, not battery powered. I wondered how long it would run, so I timed it. Starting out fully wound and set to its fastest setting (208 bpm), it "ran out of steam" after 10 1/2 minutes. So that's the shortest length of time it would run. At a slower setting, it should run for a proportionally longer time.
The ticks are rather loud, so it is very easy to hear. What I found VERY helpful is that (if you position it so you can see it, at least peripherally) the motion of the pendulum (is that the proper term?) made it easier to practice keeping time with. I like this much better than an electronic metronome's beep and LED flash.
Excellent quality of construction (German engineering, ya gotta love it).
Overall, it's just a great metronome. I'm really glad I bought it.

Comments about Wittner Taktell Piccolo Metronome:

I use this when I practice my guitar to stay on beat. It's loud enough, and the swinging pendulum helps you stay on beat as well. The unit is a precision instrument of very good quality. The all wood one is louder, but this one works just fine. Great product that I would recommend to anyone! Roy Sorenson
