Description: This piece is written in Middle C position, is 40 measures long (including the repeat) and is in 3/4 time. The melody is shared between the LH and the RH and spans four octaves. This piece contains staccatos, accents, and legato passages. Purpose: Students are encouraged to play two hands smoothly at the same time. They are also encouraged to play one hand staccato. There are two tempo changes. Suggestions for Instruction: The tempo should be relaxed and moderate. Play staccatos crisply and if possible try to sing out the RH over the LH. Dynamic contrast will help to define the overall character. Key: C Minor
