This instrument is wonderful. I am a 10+year piano player. I have a bachelor's in music and grew up with my own cherry Yamaha baby grand in a room with hardwood floors. If you don't know, that just means I have the alpha piano to compare it to. To be clear, this comes nowhere close. But then again, my parents spent upwards of 10 grand on that piano and it was used and on sale. I bought this at Guitar Center in San Antonio and they threw a piano bench in for free. From what I've seen, you cannot get an upright digital piano for cheaper. Period. That being said, this piano rivals most of the upright acoustics I've played on and blows all the others out of the water. The most annoying thing about an average upright is that the older they get they less they hold their tune, and random keys may lose tension. Keyboards tend to have unstable stands (not good with little ones around), and it is seriously frustrating when I lose the sustain pedal in the middle of a piece because it's not anchored to anything. This piano takes care of all of that. And to compare to an acoustic upright for $500 - you just won't find it in any store. You might find it on Craigslist, but good luck with that.. About the piano itself: The action is good. Not performance standard, but good. Much better than a lot of older though well taken care of acoustic pianos. The sustain pedal isn't what I'd like it to be, but I haven't figured out all the settings yet. And all my college professors yelled at me for overusing it anyway. :) Overall, a quality piece of equipment. Definitely compare to others the same price, but as a professional who actually went around and played all the under $800 pianos in San Antonio, this one definitely takes the cake.

There are a couple things I do not like about this piano. For one, when you play a key it bounces up and hits the felt above to where you hear it hit one another. Its a dull softer sound but it drives me crazy, especially when I am playing a lot of keys fast! Another thing I do not like is the sustain pedal does not sustain as well as preveious pianos (real) I have had. It does sustain well in length of time but does not in the volume it sustains it in. Lastly, I do not like the speakers. When I am not playnig anything I can hear static in the speakers and they are not that loud. Overall I like the piano. Its not as good as a real one but its pretty close. I hope my review helps you! Happy shopping!

Cheap

By Thanh

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

Pro(s): Cheap, looked like a nice piece of furniture, comes with pedals. Con(s): Does NOT sound right. Not anywhere near the sound of the real piano. You can tell the feel of the piano, it IS cheaply made. Comparing to my Kawai electric piano? This is NOT any where comparing to Kawai. However, Kawai is much more expensive. I bought this for my daughters, whom just started to play piano the last 5 years. Over all, gave 3 stars because it is cheap. Best wishes to you all.

Nice piano but, dont plan on hauling it around

By DEBORAH

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I've had this about a week now. It has a very nice piano sound, the other sounds not so much. This is a nice piano, nice finish, sturdy, well made. You are not going to be lugging this around as it is pretty heavy and large. The USB works well but you do hear the piano sounds come through to the computer when using usb. There is an option to only listen to midi through computer. Haven't tried anything through the midi port only USB. The keys have a really nice feel, nicely weighted, feels like an acoustic piano.

Really Nice

By Ron Crigger

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I got this piano for myself this week and put it together New Years Day. First, I was really impressed with the way the piano was packed. The legs (side panels) were already together with the brackets, all that needed to be done was to put the pedal bar on and then screw on the back panel, it took me about 10 minutes. Had a friend help lift the piano on top and that was easy it there is a slider piece that slides into the bracket and lines it self up to screw on the top. The whole process took about 30 minutes. Sounds great, my friend plays piano and really thought this was great.

Good Choice

By Elizabeth Ontolchik

from Westlake, OH

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

Recently purchased this digital piano and I am pleased with the product. I have not experienced any of the 'buzzing' or 'lag time' issues other reviewers have mentioned. I think for the price, it sounds great. The instructions to put it together are very minimal and it definitely requires an extra set of hands since its so heavy! Fits in well with most furniture - I ultimately recommend this piano.

So Far So Good!!

By Regina Roberts

from Allegan, MI

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I've had this piano for a little over 2 weeks, and I love it. My only issue is when I plug in my headphones I get a constant low humming sound; but it's something I can live with. I don't believe it has anything to do with the piano, because I don't hear any humming when the phones are not plugged in. I needed a weighted key, close to a real, piano for my lessons and this piano fits the bill and works well. I look forward to many years of use from this piano!

Great price for a very decent piano

By Zachary Leifson

from Layton, Utah

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

For only $500 this piano can't be beat. It has everything that I wanted in a digital piano except weighted keys (such as Yamaha's Clavinova). The sound is very good and offers great features only digital pianos can offer. It is great being able to plug headphones into the piano and play as loud as I want after my kids go to bed. I would compare this piano to something bought at IKEA. It is not the best quality in the world, but you can't find a brand new digital piano like this for a better price. Can't find anything that I don't like about it so far.

Great for starting out

By Jonathan Breton

from Elizabeth

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I am in the process of buying a digital piano on a budget, i played the Overture for about 20-30min and i must admit, for the price the sound quality is pretty good and has good volume. The furniture looks and feels great. What did not win me over, was the touch response. It felt nearly impossible to play really soft. I found this can be accomplished if you were to adjust the volume a quarter down from max. Overall i think its a good piece for as a decor and anyone looking to have this as a family piano from beginner to intermidiate players. I personally would spend a bit extra on a casio privia or celviano

Pretty Good!

By Nes Paolella

from Pennslyvania

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I've had this piano so far for 2 weeks and it seems really good, with a nice price too. Admittedly there are a few things that bug me about this piano, but they are minor issues that I can learn to live with. For one, i find the metronome to be a little annoying. I'm used to a steady stream of same-sounding "beeps", but this metronome will make a different sound at the end of the amounted time (i.e. if the time sig. is 4/4 then it makes the different sound every 4 beats). Also, when you turn this piano on, the reverb is automatically applied. Because I don't like the way it sounds, I have to turn it off each time. As far as I know, there is no way to change this. My last issue with this piano is that the keys "bounce". If I don't have my head phones on, I will hear each key make a light noise as it hits the felt. This wont be heard to listeners, but it is quite annoying for the pianist. Despite these minor quirks of mine, I really love the Overture :) The set-up is quite easy, and even though I had some trouble with the shipping company for the late delivery, It comes perfectly undamaged. It looks beautiful, and sounds even better! If your looking to buy a good electric piano without a huge price, I'd highly recommend this one.

2 Years unused before every sensor went out

By Nathaniel Fotheringham

from North Las Vegas

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I bought this product in 2010 for Christmas and then went through some troubled time so I was never able to fully learn the piano so it sat there unused for a year and a half and so I finally picked up piano lessons last month and starting early of this month all the sensors started going out and a lot of the keys would play or not play at random times. For not being used we were very surprised on how fast the piano went out. The cost to repair makes this piano not even worth repairing.

Really Good!!

By Tamar Razmadze

from New Jersey

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I just recently bought this piano and it is amazing. It works really good. Just one little thing that may bother you is that when you first turn it on it takes a few seconds to adjust its sound. It doesn't play loud at first. Otherwise it's a really good buy.
