I have been living with a little Casio (practically a toy) for several years now and finally decided to get a good keyboard. I love this piano! The weighted keys mimic an acoustic piano nearly flawlessly and the sound is amazing. It is so nice to be able to play with some dynamics again. I only get to an acoustic piano a few times a month, and was getting quite frustrated at knowing a piece very well on my Casio, but not being able to transition well to an acoustic. I no longer have that problem with this keyboard. I think it is the only keyboard I have ever heard that has a decent harpsichord voice. There are only two things I would change about the Overture if I could. have to play on soft touch mode to get the dynamics I am used to from an acoustic piano; anything more and it takes far too much effort (or turning the volume up) to hear the dynamics. Secondly, I wish the sustain held the piano voice a touch longer and the strings and harpsichord voice for less time. The string voice will not cut out at all until the pedal is lifted (neither will the organ voice, but that is realistically how an organ plays) and there is an undertone in the harpsichord voice that does the same thing (although you can not really hear it in the treble notes).

There are a couple things I do not like about this piano. For one, when you play a key it bounces up and hits the felt above to where you hear it hit one another. Its a dull softer sound but it drives me crazy, especially when I am playing a lot of keys fast! Another thing I do not like is the sustain pedal does not sustain as well as preveious pianos (real) I have had. It does sustain well in length of time but does not in the volume it sustains it in. Lastly, I do not like the speakers. When I am not playnig anything I can hear static in the speakers and they are not that loud. Overall I like the piano. Its not as good as a real one but its pretty close. I hope my review helps you! Happy shopping!

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I use this just to play piano at home. I love the sound and the weighted keys. I live in an apartment, so I wanted a digital piano because I move frequently. It's portable, but still heavy (you need 2 people to move it). The sustain pedal doesn't work as well as a regular piano, but that's to be expected with a digital piano. I also noticed that the weighted keys make the same plastic-y noise that regular non-weighted keyboards do, but again, it's not a regular piano. Overall, I really enjoy the piano and it's the next best thing to a real piano!

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I bought this for my daughter and she loves it. Another site had a lower price, a quick phone call to Musicians Friend - they matched the price without question and shipped it out. I've had nothing but great experiences with Musicians Friend.

      Cheap

      By Thanh

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

Pro(s): Cheap, looked like a nice piece of furniture, comes with pedals. Con(s): Does NOT sound right. Not anywhere near the sound of the real piano. You can tell the feel of the piano, it IS cheaply made. Comparing to my Kawai electric piano? This is NOT any where comparing to Kawai. However, Kawai is much more expensive. I bought this for my daughters, whom just started to play piano the last 5 years. Over all, gave 3 stars because it is cheap. Best wishes to you all.

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

It was very well packaged. Good thing too because it had some significant dings on the outside packaging. It was easy to assemble. I found the perfect setting for me and I love playing it.
The only thing I didn't like was that it went over five hundred miles extra before I received it. Went right past the area I live in.

Nice piano but, dont plan on hauling it around

      By DEBORAH

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I've had this about a week now. It has a very nice piano sound, the other sounds not so much. This is a nice piano, nice finish, sturdy, well made. You are not going to be lugging this around as it is pretty heavy and large. The USB works well but you do hear the piano sounds come through to the computer when using usb. There is an option to only listen to midi through computer. Haven't tried anything through the midi port only USB. The keys have a really nice feel, nicely weighted, feels like an acoustic piano.

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I'm enjoying this piano very much. Build quality is good and the sound and weighted keys are also good. I read a lot of reviews before buying and almost missed out on a great product. The keys are not progressive but the weight is fine and should allow beginners to gain hand strength. The piano sounds are good and if you need a better piano sound there are plenty of synch software out there. I found a program that is free and has excellent grand piano sounds. With the abundance of software available and a USB cable you can do just about anything now. No problem with buzzing from speaker and no problem with the touch sensor as described by a few YouTube videos. I have 23 years worth of experience as a pianist and highly recommend this product.

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

Bought the Williams Serenade 6 months ago. We loved the Piano but speakers quit working for some reason. Musiciansfriend advised us to pay to have it shipped to them since Williams warranty was through Musiciansfriend and they agreed to send us a new piano but the Serenade was no longer available. They first wanted to send us a Rapsody but I told them that was a down grade and not acceptable. I wanted my Serenade fixed. We called Williams but they do not do any warranty work any more. They simply replace the piano with a new one. I called Musicianfriend and advised them of what Williams said. I got another supervisor at Musiciansfriend and I was so Happy that He worked with us and got a new Overture sent out to us. The Overture does not have the 4 internal speaker the Serenade has so it is not as loud without pluggin into an amp or sound system but you can still practice with the speakers it does have. It still is a wonderful Piano that you do not have to pay to tune. My wife Loves it and it does feel very close to an acoustic piano. Take my advise and unplug it like the book says after every use. I don't think you will have the problem we had if you keep it unplugged when not using it... I would have given it 5 stars if Williams would Warranty the thing themselves... I love Musiciansfriend

Very nice digital piano for the money. We purchased for personal use and enjoyment. You will not get the "big money" grand piano sound or expensive keyboard sound. But for personal use and enjoyment, given the cost, it is perfect for our use. We would recommend to anyone.
