Overview

Williams Legato is an affordable digital piano with 88 semi-weighted keys, five great sounds (piano, electric piano, organ, synth, and bass) and built-in speakers. It also features split/layer function (to combine sounds) and a built-in metronome. This ultra-portable piano is perfect for performing and practicing.

Voices
The Legato piano has 5 built-in voices. Each voice may be selected one at a time. They can be layered to produce two voices at once, or assigned to the left or right hands in the split mode. Voices include: Piano, Electric Piano, Organ, Synth and Bass.

Split Mode
Split Mode allows the keyboard to be divided into two sections so that different voices may be played with the left and right hands. The volume may be independently adjusted for each voice, the Split Point (the highest note played with the left hand) may be adjusted and the Split Voice may be changed as desired.

Reverb and Chorus Buttons
The Reverb and Chorus effects may be applied to each voice individually and will be retained even when the power is turned off. To apply either effect, press either button. The button will light and the effect will be heard when the piano is played. To turn off the effect, press the button of the desired effect again and the LED light will go off.

Note: This keyboard operates on batteries or with a power supply, but it ships with neither. We enthusiastically recommend the Williams ESS1 Essentials Pack for the Legato Digital Piano, which comes with a power supply, sustain pedal and pair of headphones. #J10039

This is a good keyboard for the price point. If you're a beginner or just want to practice, this would be an excellent choice. I only use it on the piano setting so I can't speak for the other modes but the piano sound is clear; you may find the lowest sound setting too low if you're not using headphones but the high setting is adequate for everyone. The only thing that would make this better was if the power supply was included. The kit is for sale separately I believe or it takes six D batteries. Pleased with my purchase!

I decided to purchase this product to use as an 88 key MIDI controller. In the specification it's indicated that there is MIDI In/Out. No MIDI In/Out ports, but it does have USB connectivity. I had to purchase additional interface products to make it work on my system. I should have spent the extra money to get a product with pictures of the ports, so I would know it had MIDI In/Out. Lesson learned.

Very Nice; I am a beginner and I am very happy with this instrument. It is not as loud as I imagined just for playing not hooked up to anything else. Works for me.

Good starter piano

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

It is exactly what we thought we were buying. I gutted an upright piano and needed a keyboard to fit inside and this one was the right size. My kids are learning to play and even though the keys are not weighted it is pretty good sound, full size keys, and a headphone jack so they can practice without the rest of us having to hear it through the house. For us the speakers give off good sound and enough sound to be heard when we unplug the headphones and play as a family. Great piano at a great price! Buy the essentials pack for the power chord and headphones for sure!

I think this keyboard is excellent for my young daughter to learn with. It could have included a power supply, that was why it did not get 5 stars.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

The product is good. Not superb, but good. I really like the sound, but the action and responsiveness of the piano is not what it was cracked up to be in the video reviews I watched, and I watched A LOT of them as well as read many reviews. Perhaps my expectations were too high. My rating for the product is a 4 star, however the service gets a 2 star rating.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

I had this keyboard for 2 weeks, sound is horrible, the last keys (high) do not even make a sound. Keys when pressed are flimsy. I tried to connect it to synthesia and it doesn't recognize any keys pressed in keyboard, only shows the name of it on the computer. Specs says keyboard has midi but there is NO midi connection in the back. Of course it also does not come with power cable (bought separately). Yes the positive about this keyboard is the low price! nothing else.

Comments about Williams Legato 88-Key Digital Piano:

We bought this for my daughter to learn piano. The sound is great, and it's a good, solid, basic keyboard, which is exactly what we wanted. It has an earphone jack so she can practice without our hearing (earphones not included). She absolutely loves it! The semi-weighted keys will make it easier for her to transition to a regular piano for recitals and performances.

Purchased for my children for Xmas. Found out that it doesn't come with a power supply after. I knew ahead of time that the semi-weighed keys weren't very good, but I thought they'd be good enough for kids. Now that I know I'm going to have to spend more money on this thing, I should've just bought them a quality Casio or Yamaha for the same price, or cheaper considering they include things like the power adapter...
