Overview

Williams digital pianos have been crafted for musicians and music enthusiasts who want the look, feel and sound of a fine acoustic piano, combined with the amazing range of effects and other features that only a digital piano can offer.

The Williams Allegro follows closely to this tradition with 88 hammer-action, velocity-sensitive keys that provide you with the realistic touch and feel of a full-scale piano in an affordable, portable solution. The Allegro is a great fit for both beginners and pros, with 64-note polyphony and eight different piano and keyboard sounds at a price that will fit into any budget. An advantage of a digital piano versus an acoustic one is its features, and with the Allegro you get a built-in metronome with variable tempos, multiple demo songs corresponding to each voice, MIDI in/out connections so you can connect it with your favorite DAW, stereo/mono line outputs to hook up to monitors or speakers, a sustain pedal, music rest, and a two-track recorder that allows you to record songs and play them back right from the piano. Your friends and family will appreciate the remarkable acoustic sound and feel of the Allegro, and all at a great price.

This piano is a bit on the heavy side at 48 lbs (according to UPS). It looks much better than it does in the pictures. The buttons do feel rather cheap and the features are limited, but the keys easily compensate. They do give you the feel of an authentic piano. I was rather disappointed with the sound at first. There's not much bass and not much to be excited about, but since then, the sound has grown on me. This piano really shines when used with the excellent reverb and the included sustain pedal. Compared to other 88 key digital pianos, this piano holds its own very well. It does feel like it would last many years, and the quality feels on par with similar keyboards from better known manufacturers. It's a very good value for the price and I would recommend it to anyone moving on up to an 88 key. I would be very comfortable performing live on it. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

This piano has an acceptable piano sound and feel for the price. I don't care for the other sounds such as organ and upright bass, but then again I bought it because it's a piano, if I wanted a bass I would have bought one so that's not a big deal. The one major downside is as others have said playing loud or soft on it can be kind of funky at times. Sometimes I'll be trying to play louder or softer and it will just be choppy loud/soft. For the price it is definitely worth it though. If you're planning on playing shows or if you're an advanced pianist..spend some extra $$ on something better.

I use this for practice & as a MIDI controller.

By Caalamus

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

I use this Keyboard as a MIDI controller. The Keys feel EXCELLENT! Contrary to what I read in another review, nothing feels cheaply manufactured to me! :]

I don't rely on any of the onboard sounds for any recording or performance purposes. They suit me fine for practice.

Yes, it is heavy. Maybe not for gigging.

I like this Keyboard a whole HEAP√

Nice inexpensive realistic sounding and feeling keyboard. Next best thing to a real piano, which I don't have room for.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

I play in a travelling tribute show and this keyboard was back line which I am currently using on stage during this leg of the tour. The action is lighter which I personally like though it does bottom out but still leaves enough dynamic expression. Piano 2 cuts well in the mix but the bottom end of both piano sounds is just ok. I did layer the strings with a piano sound and it was fine. Using it for mainly piano should serve you well for most gigs. To be fair, you can't compare it to the higher end boards but for the money it is a good choice. I'm using it for a professional show and it's perfectly fine. As well the speakers sound decent enough. In terms of reliability, I can't comment as the one I'm using seems almost new out of the box. Give it a listen... no other keyboard has weighted keys in this price range.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

This is a awesome piano for the price. We bought it for my kids to practice at home and with the space limitations of living in an apartment this is a perfect fit. The keys are very realistic and having other people try out the piano they say the same thing the keys feel just like a real pianos keys. Love the headphone jack for when the kids are practicing or just goofing around on it.

        What they said...

        By John H.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

I am most pleased with the "feel" of this instrument. I can practice on this and go play at the church or someone's house or a club and play almost any piano without adjustment. There is less "clicking" of the keys than I have with my $800 Yamaha CGX-640, which I appreciate. It seems sturdy and well made.

        Good+ performance, Excellent value

        By BOB

        from West Valley City, UT

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

The keys feel very much like the weighted keys of a piano. The sound of the piano is fairly accurate, however, some parts of the sound do not sustain long enough, and other parts sustain too long, so the sound of a sustained note after several seconds, becomes less realistic. For 95% of what I play, the sound is realistic, so I am pleased with it. I don't use the non-piano sounds very much, but they are a nice addition to add variety. The two-track recorder is simple, but limited, in that it will only hold one song along with the demo songs that are pre-programmed into it. Since I didn't buy the keyboard for its sequencer capabilities, I consider it an added bonus that allows me to quickly record an idea for use and development at a later time. It is very heavy, so I keep this one in the studio, and use a different keyboard for traveling. I recommend a double-braced keyboard stand, if you are using the X-type. The sustain pedal, like most included sustain pedals, is not the best, so I bought a sturdier type. The price was outstanding, and the quality and features for the price were excellent.

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

I like a "real" piano feel and this fills the bill completely - (I use a midi cable to a Kurzweil Micropiano) and I couldn't be happier - bottom line - lightweight, really good piano feel and everything worked right out of the box...! Couldn't be happier...

Comments about Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano:

Only good thing I can say about it is the price is low, but don't waste your money. The sounds are horrible and the action is worse than the sounds. Plus this thing is HEAVY! After about a year of use some keys started sticking (no food or drink was ever near it). Upon taking it apart to try and fix it, the poor quality manufacturing was very evident. I can't recommend this to anyone.
