This passive Whirlwind Director Deluxe direct box converts line, instrument, or speaker level signals to a low impedance mic level. The input is Hi-Z bridging. Includes a 30dB pad switch for selecting level, a switchable low pass roll-off filter to eliminate amp noise, and a ground lift switch on the Lo-Z output.

I play bass in my church's band and these were working great, in fact, we have three of them. Our guitar player and I had been using these and they were working great, but within three months of each other two of the DIs simply stopped transmitting a signal. I'm not sure of the cause for this as we have been using them properly and our professional soundman couldn't figure out the reason for it.
Whirlwind makes great stuff and this direct box is no exception. I use a couple of their products and they have never failed me. This direct box is simply and easy to use, as must are, no line loss whatsoever. That is what seperates this from all the others
