Jack Joseph Puig on JJP Bass: "Every track is different. And every bass track is different. Sometimes you want just a great bottom; other times you want something with more mid-range that cuts through a mix. You may want to give it a bit of distortion, give it an edge. Or you™ll want to shape the sound with some nice bell EQs, use some compression and gate to lock it with the kick drum. I could even see someone using this plug-in on the drums of a hip hop track as a sub enhancer, to give it some attitude. JJP Bass is a plug-in that could be used in any situation."

I want to shape the tonality to fit what the song needs to be, so when it comes out of the speaker, it' on another level. With JJP Strings & Keys, it' set up so you can really follow your instincts, to bring out the complexities in your keyboard parts and orchestrations. You might want to use some delay and make it wider, or add a little air for a more ambient feel. Sometimes you™ll want it dry and in-your-face. Whatever I do, it has to serve the song."

You can take out the mid-range on tambourines to make them sound brighter, or you can add some dirt and distortion to make them sound grittier. You can boost the high end to enhance the shimmer of the cymbals or compress them hard, to bring out other aspects of their sound. Dear Waves Users,

My career is an ongoing quest for tone, attitude, magic, and, of course, the empowerment of the song. I have the good fortune to work with fantastic artists, in some of the world's most fabulous studios.

I have failed and I have won. In either case, I have learned from both my successes and losses. These plug-ins are a couple decades of those experiences.

The internal processing behind them are based on some of my own proven ideas and some handed down to me by my mentors; others are inspired from a few talented record makers. Waves has developed some very special proprietary software to ensure the plug-ins to have the ability to do what I intend them to do.

The marriage of digital and analog was a difficult element to get right. But due to Waves years of modeling experience, we were able to successfully include the analog element, making these plug-ins unique in that they are a hybrid of the best digital and analog tools available to us today. These plug-ins were created with the idea that you can get what you want by simply adjusting the parameters on the plug-ins. This will help maintain your creative flow, without countless interruptions of plug-in choices from your plug-in menus. In developing these plug-ins, I have tried using them on instruments that they weren't intended for, with great success. So anything goes with them!

My desire/wish is to have these plug-ins meet your satisfaction, and inspire all of us to make great records.
