Throughout the vinyl era, the original Fairchild 670 compressor was ubiquitous. From the recording studio to the record lathe, the Fairchild was renowned for its advanced compression techniques and incomparable sound. Waves has recreated nuances of Jack Joseph Puig’s Fairchild 670 along with details of its rich harmonic complexity with the Waves PuigChild plug-in.

Waves, along with producer/engineer/mixer Jack Joseph Puig, spent more than three years developing the Puig collection of processors. They are based on examples from Puig's vast personal collection of heirloom vintage audio equipment.
