Other than the first minor defect that I found with that first guitar, I cannot find anything to complain about with this guitar.
I have been searching for the perfect guitar for a while now and I have found it. By perfect I mean great sounding, great looking, well built, and most of all PLAYABLE but for a low cost because I'm not a rich man.
I purchased the Washburn WD25SCE 2 weeks ago and fell in love with it. I was only able to play it unplugged in my bedroom for the first few days, then I had a gig where I used a PA System. To my chagrin I found that the lower string E and A were profoundly louder than the rest of the strings when amplified. But......I know what was wrong, I have a luthier friend that took a look at it and he said there was nothing seriously wrong with it, the saddle was perfectly flat so there was more pressure on the bass strings than on the treble strings.
Although it was an easy fix ( just a little sanding is all that it needed ) I decided to send it back so I wouldn't void any warranties, etc.
But, I have to say that I loved this guitar so much that I took another Washburn WD25SCE in exchange for it.
The tone from the spruce top and rosewood back and sides is incredible, the neck feels great in my hands, the pickup ( Fishman Isys + ) is really cool, not complicated, it has the basic functions.....volume, bass, treble, phase switch and a tuner. I like this because I have seen some guitar preamps that have a ridiculous amount of controls on them and they leave you scratching your head and trying to figure out what slider or knob to move.
All in all, for the money I honestly don't think there is a better guitar out there.

Very well built, Washburn did not skimp on this one.
For the money, you're not finding a better guitar out there.

Pros: Sounds Great, plays very easy, looks beautiful. Cons: Strings broke within an hour, tuners missing screws. sound hole is 3 3/4 so a 4 inch cover will not fit. Had to modify cover. String pegs were installed wrong when strings were installed. Some pegs were coming out of holes. All in all for the price I would have expected better QC. but I like this axe and how it plays. I can fix all this cheaper than sending back. I always tweak every guitar I have owned. This one is no exception.

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

I'm very happy with this one, as a replacement for my 20 year old D 10 which I bought new. this Washburn is really well built and balanced, the set up was perfect, the electric's are located for easy use but not over done. it would have been nice if it came with a case and a front strap pin. over all a great price on a sweet guitar.

best for the money

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

i bought one of these for my grandson, to learn on, but mainly to keep him out of my music room, playing my martins and gibsons, denting and scratching them up, the reason why, i had a washburn years ago, great acoustic i sold it, i wish i still had it, sounded every bit as good as my martins and gibsons. i bought this online, i really didn't want to, i always try out an acoustic before buying, but this model was not in stock,so i took a chance, and i was pleasantly surprized when i recieved it, being made in china i was a bit skeptical, so i went over it with a fine tooth comb, and after changing the strings and a slight adjustment of the neck and saddle, it's perfect. all acoustics need this because of the nature of the beast, the acoustic sound is good, as good or better than any other guitar in this price range, electricly it sounds every bit as good as my other acoustics, very good, where the washburn stands out is fit and finish, the neck and fret's perfect, the binding, abalone inlay, tuners, inlay around headstock perfect, also i dont see any laminate wood, i see solid woods, very well built, will sound better with time as the wood age's, this is one of the best acoustic electrics out there.

Great guitar

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

Solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides are a magical combination.I have a '71 Martin d35s with the same kind of wood, midrange boost and great lows come out of this guitar. Fishman preamp is clean and not piezo skwacky like the Ibanez acoustic electrics, but it's a lower output also.Came set up well, no defects, killer guitar at this price! Don't forget a humidifier to keep the top tight and not cracked.

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

I have owned a lot of guitars in my life, this one is a keeper. Plays great, sounds good acoustic or hooked up. The Fishman 301T is plenty loud and it blends well. However tends to be a little heavy on bottom end. For the money this is a great guitar. This is an entry level guitar...but had I got this one first...I would not have spent all that money on my expensive guitars. Only negative should have been shipped more secure. Had surface scuffs from moving around in the box. Other than that it is ready to Gig.

Love My Washburn

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

Can't believe that Washburn can put together a guitar that sounds and looks as good as the WD25SCE. Unamplified tone is amazing and will rival anything out there cost 4 times this amount. Amplified tone from the Isis + is acceptional.
This guitar tunes up and stays in tune. The factory website says that it comes with Lights 12-53 strings. I like Elixer Custom Lights 11-52, I threw on a set of them and the guitar accepts them without issue, no tuning problems at all.

Can't say enough about this. Get one, you'll be pleased.

Amazing sound and comfort at a great price!

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

I bought my Washburn on Memorial Day and it has been a complete joy to play. I was looking for a new acoustic guitar and I had been considering a Breedlove cedar top acoustic for some time. I saw the Washburn and decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. It has such a great tone whether or not it is plugged in and it is so comfortable and easy to play. I never thought I could find a guitar like this for only $399.00. Thanks to Henry at GC in Portland for helping me with the decision to buy the guitar and for turning me into an instant fan of Washburn acoustics.

A great sounding Washburn- thanks Arnie

Comments about Washburn WD25SCE Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Dreadnought Rosewood Guitar with Fishman Preamp And Tuner:

I got this A/E with my nephew about a month ago at the Rancho Cucamonga G.C.store. The manager Arnie Newman, an acomplished guitarist, was patient and very helpful in helping us compare and find just the right guitar in our price range. Unplugged the Washburn out-shined every other guitar in our price range, not only in over all sound, but clairity + tone with a nice brite sound. The action is low and very fast, but has no fret buzz what-so-ever, which surprised me for an acoustic-electric or any new guitar for that matter, with no previous set-up. Plugged in it was far nicer than either of us expected, we were absolutely amazed at the wide range of sounds it can produce, the EQ was exelent, and the on-board tuner worked perfectly and was very easy to use. He played it for over an hour & a half strait when we got home only taking small 1 or 2 minute breaks occasionally to rest his fingers. He's very happy with this guitar & so am I. I hope htis review was helpful
