Overview

The Washburn WD100DL is a steel string acoustic guitar that features a mahogany top and dreadnought size, making it ideal for both practice and performance.

Mahogany is dark-colored wood that, when used as a guitar soundboard, creates a warm, full tone with a character all its own. The WD100DL also features mahogany back and sides that further help to balance out the powerful low- and high-end inherent to the dreadnought body shape. The result is a sound that's both pleasing and loud enough to be heard in small venue without amplification.

The Washburn WD100DL has a full-length 25-1/2" mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. Other appointments include a rosewood bridge, vintage style headstock, die-cast tuners, and a gig bag.

*Note: Restock version does not have Washburn flower logo on headstock.

recieved this guitar within 3 days of ordering! all i had to do was tune and play. action was dead on, fast comfortable neck, it really doesnt sound like a laminated guitar! flat picking, finger picking, barre chords this guitar sounds great! tone is deep and mellow (it almost makes me think of a cedar topped guitar but just a bit brighter) GC's description is exactly the way this guitar sounds. the frets are finished very smoothly, holds tune very well, i am very pleased with the way this guitar was set up!

I recommend going down to your local pawn shop or the guitar center and playing the guitars. No review can substitute for playing the guitar before you make your purchase. I bought this online after reading other reviews. This acoustic looks great with average action, doesn't stay in tune, and is probably worth a lot less than what I paid. I paid $50 for a Yamaha acoustic 10 years ago and it stays in tune longer than the new Washburn. The sound of the old and new acoustics are about the same.

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is one of the best bargains I've seen in a long time. It has a sweet rich sound that is way past it's bargain price. The mahogany really gives that rich, loud music. I have a number of acoustic guitars and this one is one of the best I've bought. I have heard a lot of complaints about the machine heads, and believe me they aren't that bad. I've had worse. I beat a guitar when I play and this one has held its tune for the last 24 hours with me playing it after the strings took a set. This guitar is definitely a hidden gem! If you have a limited budget, and want a nice acoustic, this one won't treat you wrong.

    Make a joyful noise

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this for my husband to replace another one he no longer has. His eyes marveled at the rich deep color, and saying how beautiful it is. He loves the sound of it and the quality. He is getting use to the skinny neck which makes the strings closer together than his wide neck did. He believes when this becomes natural to him that he will like the skinny neck better because it is easier to reach chords. He found a free app for his phone that tells you when you have each string in tune. Took less than 5 minutes to tune.

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

I've played washburns in the past but moved on to Martins. This guitar sounds like a $400 guitar. It looks great. I'm not totally convinced it's solid mahogany but it's still great either way for the price. I sanded down the neck (just to take a bit of lacquer off to keep my hands from sticking) tightened the truss rod and sanded down the saddle a bit since it comes with pretty high action which makes it a little tougher to play. After this; she played like a beauty. The medium strings are great for this guitar. It helps add to the great tone.

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

Ok I've been a musician for the past seven years. I played trumpet, some percusian, and various other wind instruments. This was my first guitar. I ordered it in mid May and as soon as I ordered it, the guitar went on back order till the 25th of May. No biggy right? Then the back order date kept being pushed back all the way till June 10th. Still no big deal to me. I have nothing but time and a whole lot of patience. So being excited I called them on the 9th to make sure it was going to ship the next day. The sales rep on the other end confirmed with me it would. The 10th comes and no shipping order arrives in my inbox. Odd, I decide to call them up and ask, "is my guitar going to ship soon?" Which all started the slew of calling day in and out asking the same question and receiving the same answer "it'll ship today if not tomorrow" for a week till I had to cancel my order and just reorder the thing at a higher price. My order was "allocated" for a week and no one shipped it.

However, when I finally got to play my first guitar it was definitely worth the wait. Don't try to order a back ordered item.

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar to have a good travel guitar and to have a guitar for busking. I really don't want to use my Gibson C/W or Martin D-15M on the sidewalk in a lot of places. My only complaint is that the tuners are cheap. I tightened up one that had about 1/8" play. The guitar is easy to play, has great tone, it is loud enough to play on the sidewalk, the intonation is correct and it looks great.

This is an excellent guitar for the money. I bought this guitar over 20 years ago and it is still in great shape and produces a rich, vibrant, sound. It's easy to play and has a great look.

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

I've been into GC so much the past few months that I feel that I've played every guitar they had..anyway I loved the color of this guitar when I seen it online..I'm not big on ordering something I haven't tried but I thought I'd give it a shot..GC said if i didn't like it I could return it..you will not be disappointed with this guitar..I was blown away by both the looks and the sound...I found this guitar to be great while singing...such a beautiful warm sound that doesn't ring your lyrics away..do not be detoured by the mahogany top.. I'm so glad i made this choice..I like this one better than my other 2 spruce top guitars one other thing...the action on this guitar is perfect..great for learning bar chords..I played for like 2 hours yesterday without my fingers getting sore..and this is with stock strings.

This guitar is good for beginners, or if you want an inexpensive campfire guitar. It tuned-up easily, and holds tune well. It has a better sound than I expected. The action was set up nicely. It is very nice for flat picking.

          First Washburn Acoustic

          By Jeffrey Wetsch

          from Bismarck, ND

Comments about Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:

This is my first Washburn acoustic after several Washburn electrics. I chose the Trans Wine Red which is beautiful. An excellent finish and great color! This guitar sounds more beautiful than it looks. The neck has that trademark Washburn feal and after I tuned it up and played the first few chords, I absolutely loved it. It has a warm, full, sound. I didn't put it down until I realized I had been playing for over an hour and my daughters were waiting for supper! Highly recommended at a great price!
