Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing for around 30 yrs, that doesn't make me a pro, but I think I can tell when something sounds good. My wd10sce is one of the best guitars I've ever played regardless of the price. I have owned mine for about 2 yrs now. Sounded great out of the box, setup was adequate, I did a small truss rod adjustment changed strings to martin x light. Recently I invested a small amount of money into new tusq bridge pins, saddle and nut. It changed the tone slightly, making it sound a little brighter and adding some sustain, also gives it some cool sounding harmonics when playing some chords. I think the upgrade made this really good sounding and inexpensive guitar sound even better. This guitar is great even if you are not on a budget!

Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Yes, the Washburn WD10SCE is as good as all the great reviews tend to indicate. Was in the market for a new acoustic-electric and didn't want to spend a small fortune. Kept coming back to the Washburn because of all the great reviews. Didn't take long after receiving it to understand why people love this guitar - great price, beautiful finish, very playable (nice action) and the sound, both plugged and unplugged is fantastic. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality, budget-friendly acoustic-electric.

Very Nice and worth the money

Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this one instead of the WD 20SCE because it was on back-order. I am pleasantly surprised at it's appearance except for quite a few flaws. First the fretboard looks used. Someone actually took a magic marker and colored in several spots. At the end of the fretboard it looks worn. Like the stain was worn off. The rest of the instrument is clean as a whistle. Sharp, sharp looking instrument. As soon as I strummed it I was hooked. The electronics worked fine and with the built in tuner I was in business in no time. I plugged it into my newly purchased USED Ibanez Trubadour T-35 and have been playing the entire weekend. I wish I could post a picture of my fingertips. It was extremely easy to play and felt really good. I am a total beginner and in the process of learning scales and chords. It's was painful but not with this guitar. Very nice to learn on. just don't get to close to the amp.

      BIG SOUND, BIG SAVINGS!

      By Greg

Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar as well as some other gear during the Memorial Day sale. The guys at GC were a big help. Did an online chat and got a sale code that saved me 10 percent on my entire purchase. Thanks GC! The Washburn WD10SCE has a beautiful deep rich tone. Not quite as deep and rich as some of the high end acoustics but all in all a deep rich well balance tone shadowed by sweet harmonics and percussive overtones that add spacial dynamics to every note. Love that! The neck is slim, smooth and fast. The action is factory set nice and low just the way I like it, yet I can still tune down one whole note without any fret buzz. Love that too! I also like the micro dot inlays. Gives the guitar a pleasant understated look. The head stock is dressed out nicely and the tuners are solid. I can tune up quick and stay tuned except while bending whole notes, may need locking tuners for that. The Fishman Isys is simple and transparent, reflecting the sound of the instrument without adding anything or taking anything away. Like that! The style, fit and finish is absolutely beautiful. The people at Washburn have a keen eye for detail and they even throw in a truss rod wrench, an extra saddle and bridge pin. Nice! Bottom line, I got everything I was looking for in an acoustic/electric for a lot less than I expected to pay. That's a win win in my book!

Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for 15 years, in that time I have played/owned several acoustic and electric guitars. I've played guitars you couldn't sell for 10.00 and guitars you couldn't buy for 1,000 and this Washburn sounds as good as any of them and better than most! I was really looking to buy an Alvarez because a buddy of mine has one and it plays so easy and sweet, but I couldn't find one in my price range so I took a gamble on this guitar based on its high rating and the Washburn reputation...boy am I glad because now my guitar looks/sounds even better than his!
I will say that when I got this guitar through the mail that it had a slight fret buzz on the low E string, but after a simple truss rod adjustment (which was the 1st time I'd ever done a truss rod adjustment so don't be afraid of doing that it really is simple and if I can do it so can you!)it now plays perfectly. I took it to my local guitar shop just to have the guy look it over and after playing it for a few minutes he said, "there's nothing I can do to help this guitar, it plays better than my 3,000 Gibson!"
Really, I can't imagine anyone finding fault with this guitar if the one I have is representative of them as a whole, I wouldn't be afraid in the least to recommend this to anyone, and for the price you really are getting a great great deal! I'm just a regular dude, a low income musician doing the best I can, and I'm not getting anything to write this review, I really do just love this guitar that much. If I were you, I'd get it today!

      Washburn WD 10SCE

      By Gunslinger

      from Pittsburgh, PA

      Verified Buyer

Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a semi professional guitarist with over 45 years experience. I am currently playing in a modern country/country rock band. We have a fiddle player in the band, I am the only guitar. On some of the songs we do, I am just playing rhythm and I thought it would be nice to play acoustic on them, songs like "Wagon Wheel", "Chicken Fried" and " Long Haired Country Boy". I have a fine 2002 Guild D4. I also have a 1972 Hofner acoustic which I bought in 1973. Both have beautiful tones. I don't like drilling holes in fine acoustics plus I didn't want to risk taking my Guild out on gigs and getting it damaged or stolen. So, I was looking for a reasonably priced acoustic electric. I wanted good electronics and I didn't want the controls in the sound hole. The Fishman electronics were a big selling point for me. I originally ordered the WD 15SCE but they were back ordered for two months. I looked at the WD 10SCE and didn't see much difference. They also had a video for the WD 10 and that convinced me. I got the WD10 in a few days. Right out of the box, the guitar played very nice. Most importantly to me, the guitar stayed in tune. It is a well made guitar and attractive as well. I've gotten comments on how nice it looks and surprise when I told them the price. I plugged it into the clean channel of my 2004 Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 401 amp and I was pleasd with the sound. Unplugged it also sounded decent. I did some test recordings plugged and unplugged to see how it sounded and they passed the test. My Guild has a lot more bottom to it but the guitar is 12 years old and has aged a bit plus I paid more for the Guild. The guitar did not feel the same as my Guild. I use GHS Bright Bronze strings in the Ultra Light Gauge on my Guild. I put them on the Washburn and the tone and playability were improved by 50%. The big test came the first time I used it with the band at rehearsal. My rehearsal amp is a Carvin SX200 solid state 100 watt amp. We remike our amps at most gigs. There was plenty of volume, no feed back thanks to the phase switch on the Washburn. The band loved the sound. I hit my strings hard on my electrics, so I have to train myself not to hit as hard on the acoustic. The guitar sounds much like an unplugged acoustic when gently strummed or picked. There is no strap knob at the base of the neck but that is no big deal. Also, be careful you don't accidently bump the tuner button on as this will run the battery down, always keep a spare battery on hand. It doesn't come wiith a case or gig bag but I had a quality extra gig bag. I may buy the hardshell case in time. I've played many acoustics in all price ranges and quality over the years. Each guitar has it's own personality. I've played moderately priced guitars which were nicer to me than guitars costing thousands. It depends on what you as a player likes. Overall, I think this is an excellent guitar for beginner, intermediate and advanced players. For the price , it is a great value. For a gigging player like myself, looking for a quality acoustic electric to gig with without breaking the bank, this is an excellent choice. I've only had the guitar for about two weeks but I don't forsee any problems.

Comments about Washburn WD 10SCE Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought a restock at a discounted price. I thought it was going to be black. It's the natural and I can't find anything wrong with it. No blemishes of any kind. The E and A strings buzzed a bit but once the guitar acclimated to my house that went away. The onboard tuner is easily readable and the guitar sounds really good plugged in. I have a Takamine I paid more than twice what I paid for this Washburn. The Washburn is a better guitar. Mainly because the Takamine is older and the electronics have gotten so much better. Best purchase I've made in a while.
