An okay guitar

By Dennis Teti

from USA

Comments about Washburn C40 Cadiz Classical Guitar:

This is my second Washburn. Everything about the guitar seems okay except there is no name on the head stock on my copy, weird. So if you buy one, don't be surprised if you don't exactly get what is picture. It does have a Washburn sticker inside the guitar and it came in a Washburn box AND I can read the serial number...so I'm assuming it actually is a Washburn guitar! It's relatively worth the money and is an okay guitar to work with. Right out of the box I only had to tune it a bit and it sounded fine. The strings that came with mine aren't too bad considering the adage of guitars always coming with poor strings/set up. Only complaint is the oddity of the headstock.

Awesome sound for a great price...

By Pat

from Mitchell, SD

Comments about Washburn C40 Cadiz Classical Guitar:

I upgraded to this guitar after giving my Yamaha CS40II to my son who lost his acoustic in a fire... The first thing I noticed was the beautiful finish. The next was the width of the finger board. I hated it for the first few hours until I got used to it... Now when I pick up my other guitars they feel tiny... This instrument has a gorgeous rich tone... I couldn't set it down for three days... I find the larger finger board actually makes it easier to play. It is solidly built...

Comments about Washburn C40 Cadiz Classical Guitar:

I'm being asked to review but I just got the guitar a week ago and I haven't started taking classes yet. It's my first classical guitar and It sounds well balanced I guess. Just be aware, and I think this goes for every classical guitar, that the open G string will be a little stubborn in staying tuned (but it's brand new). I'm told once you keep tuning it and stretching the string(s) it will stay tuned. A few reasons I didn't give it five stars was because the Washburn logo on the headstock is not centered, and I found some tiny blemishes on the finish near the edge of the 3rd fret, some weird paint and blemish near the inside of the tuning post assembly. They're not a deal-breakers but it would have been nice to have the logo centered. It's a full size guitar and the finish, color, and overall look is beautiful. Wonderful beginner's guitar for a great price.
