Washburn has been building banjos since the late 1800s. These instruments were considered some of the finest of their day. This heritage is not lost in the instruments they handcraft today. Pros and amateurs alike choose a Washburn for its outstanding tone, build and value.
The unique BM3 Mandolin Banjo is part of Washburn's Bluegrass Series and it enables mandolin players to emulate banjo tones. Being a bit louder than standard mandolins, the BM3 Mandolin Banjo will add a new dimension to your performances.
Based on Washburns Mandolin Banjos of the 1910s and 1920s, the BM3 is a four-chorus 13.75 scale Mandolin Banjo. It features a walnut rim and resonator back plate, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and open gear tuners. The resonator is removable to drop the volume. The genuine Remo head supports a maple bridge with ebony tip. Tuned like a mandolin, G-D-A-E, the BM3 opens up a whole new world of sonic possibilities. Strung with DAddario strings.
