Just beginning!

By Zach

from Iowa

Comments about Washburn B9 Banjo:

Just started and am teaching self to play. This banjo with resonator gets plenty of volume. I am very happy with this purchase. Cannot believe this is a beginner banjo. Definetley get what you pay for and then some. Would recommend this banjo to all. Came assembled other than the bridge which my local Guitar center was more than happy to help place it for me. Very friendly buisness overall. Thanks!

Nice entry level banjo

By Patrick Haley

from Rainier, Oregon

Comments about Washburn B9 Banjo:

A friend bought this instrument for her son, who has never played banjo. I was asked to set it up and get it in playing condition. It went together fairly easily, if you have an idea about how to set up stringed instruments. It would have been nice to have some simple directions (there were none) for placing the bridge, setting intonation, tuning etc. A total newbie would have no idea, given what was (or should I say wasn't) in the box. That said, within 20 minutes it was together, tuned and playable. Strings were still stretching, but that's to be expected. Tuning mechanisms, hardware, wood finish were all great. Head was tight...I didn't need to adjust it. Overall a nice entry level banjo.

Good Banjo...

Comments about Washburn B9 Banjo:

This is a very good Banjo for just starting out. I bought one a couple years back and was definitely a good buy. It was relatively inexpensive and has a great sound to it as well.

Good starter banjo. The tool that is used to adjust the brackets didn't fit the brackets, so it is relatively useless.

      Comments about Washburn B9 Banjo:

I really like this banjo. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that it has an aluminum rim, not wood; this does create a slightly brighter tone, which I happen to like. I enjoy playing it in the clawhammer style, and the resonator helps cut through other instruments well.

      Comments about Washburn B9 Banjo:

Bought a couple to use for lessons. We received one in good order. Second had to be returned due to damage. When we returned it and got next one its was worse than first. Been an uphill battle. Hoping fourth time is a charm! Fellas at store have been great to deal with. Not the GC staffs fault.
