The distinctive body design of the Warwick Thumb 6-String Bass Guitar is a favorite of players worldwide and the Thumb has many features that separate it from its peers. The ovangkol wood body is both beautiful and harmonically resonant. The Bass's MEC active pickups and electronics give you the broadest range of tones and textures. 3-piece ovangkol bolt-on neck with wenge fingerboard. Black hardware.

This bass has it all!!! The sound is just amazing. I own this bass with the broadneck option. For slap players, you can't go wrong with a Thumb. For metal players, I played this bass through my GK Neo412, (no effects, no graphic EQ, just my Thumb, a cord, my head, and my cab,) with my old metal band and let me tell you ... that combination, it didn't growl, (which is what GK & Warwick is known for,) it ROARS!!! I use my Thumb 6 with Pedulla Nickel strings. If I boost up the bass knob a bit, hello fretless-like love! One thing that those of you new to Warwick must know, Warwick basses have a very distinct sound that is all their own. Some like it, some don't. I love it. Thumb basses are made with some very beautiful, very thick, woods. Which means Thumbs are very heavy basses. You will want a wide strap for your shoulder, possibly padded. I've played Ibanez, Fender, G&L, Music Man ... nothing gives me what I want like my Warwicks (Thumb 6 & FNA Jazzman 4.) If you got the cash, and want the best ... BUY THE BEST!! For me, the best is Warwick.
I've been playing warwick basses for 10 years. This is the father of all six string basses. I have the 6-sting warwick thumb bolt-on broadneck, this bass bass is amazing. I even up graded it to give it a better sound, I had bartolini pickups and a aguilar obp-3 preamp installed. I will not ever play another bass.
Hands down THE nicest 6 string bass I have ever played on. Coming from somebody who has owned several Warwick basses, this is got to be the nicest 6 string Warwick or any 6 string bass. Plugged into my SWR rig it sounds amazingly awesome with the signature Warwick growl. This bass is perfect for jamming some jazz tunes, as well as any kind of clean funky rhythms that make this bass sing. Awesome funk tones. I actually use an assortment of effect pedals, one of them being bass overdrive, this bass has some kicking overdrive tone to it as well. Tone is in one word AWESOME! Warwick basses come with a deluxe bag as well as a trapper style thing that comes with a truss rod, beeswax to wax it with, and instructional manual on how to care for your new Warwick! If you have the money, don't hesitate buy today!
I have owned my "Thumb" now for 9 months. The craftsmanship and construction of the instrument is top notch. Anyone who owns one of these will tell you it is probably one of the most "solid" basses made. Setup and adjustments are easy and have plenty of options for getting the right feel for your own personal preferences or style. Right out the box it is ready to go. I did not adjust the action for 3 months until i got used to the instrument and was able to set it up the way I wanted in no time. Humidity etc does not even seem to affect the bass. This is my second warwick and this seems to go for all of them so you won't have to worry about adjusting the neck every season. This Bass is heavy but if you get a well made leather bass strap (wide with some padding) you will not notice the weight. The action is great and you can play effortlessly for hours at a time. The preamp is not as functional as I would like but I haven't changed it yet and is quite usable. Overall, it's one of the best made instruments out there and well worth the money.
