This thing rocks!!!

By Musicman

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette $ 4-String Electric Bass:

This bass is too cool. I got it looking for a versatile instrument and I found what I was looking for. I can play anything from Wooten to Steve Harris style playing. The guitar might as well came set up because I haven't had to do any adjustments. The pickups sound great and the visual beauty is just stunning. The only thing I would change about it would be more options of available finishes but besides that I am in love with this thing, every bass player should check it out.

Total Bang For Your Buck!!!

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette $ 4-String Electric Bass:

I've been playing for about 4 years now, and as of now i own 6 basses, one of them being the Warwick $$. With the styles i play this bass is perfect. It has the perfect action and perfect pick-ups for slapping, popping, and picking. Honestly i would've paid a lot more for this bass if i had too.

Can't put it down!

By Jake

from Boca Raton, FL

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette $ 4-String Electric Bass:

To put it simply, I think this is the best bass I have ever played. It has the great quality that comes with any Warwick, but unlike the other Corvette series, it has duel humbuckers that are placed right in the middle of the body right next to eachother, giving it an amazing sound! They are even shaped perfectly for resting your thumb! And if you don't want the humbucker sound, you can set each of them up individually to act as single coils. it is simply a brilliant bass and I would recommend it for any genre you play!

$$ value

By bob esbenshade

from lancaster,pa

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette $ 4-String Electric Bass:

I just got this $$warwick. it is quite a value. let me preface by saying i do own a german made corvette and it is a stunning machine. that being said, the $$ is a very nice bass. i believe it is made in china. mine is made of chinese ash, is that any different than other ash? it is not quite as elegant looking as my german model but it is very well put together. strait out of the box it has the best set up of any bass i have ever gotten. it even includes the specs and the tech who set it up. something that you seldom see in "second" brands. the intonation is perfect the entire scale, and it is a very long neck. all the hardware is warwick and the pups are mecs. it has a variety of tonal possibilities with the two humbuckers and switching available. i lowered the bottom side of the pickups to roll off a little of the deep end. this bass has very deep capabilities. it is very comfortable and plays very well. so far i have found that it sounds like heaven through my ampeg BR100 ROCKET. i like it a little better through that than my GK212UL that i use for a lot of gigs. anyway, i really like this guitar. it has a very articulate sound and i like the way it looks, feels, and plays. i do a lot of gigs and this will be in my arsenal. one thing i really like is how quiet it is. i can hardly detect any hum or buzz. $$ is a good, solid bass, and a good value.

Good Bass...Not So Good Service

By Andrew

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette $ 4-String Electric Bass:

This is a difficult review because there are two separate things to discuss. I'll start with the bass:

Once the bass arrived, it did not disappoint. The double humbucker configuration for is beefy and I especially like the push/pull knobs which provide the ability to switch between series and parallel. The fit and finish is very good for a bass at this price point and the neck is comfortable - not quite as fast as my Ibanez necks and a little thicker than a Jazz neck.

I had to make some adjustments to the bridge saddles as the intonation was not great out of the box. The Warwick bridge allows for adjusting the width between the strings which is nice. Once I got the bass set up, it played beautifully. One thing I noticed is that the strings didn't initially hold their tuning very well the first night. I'm not sure if thats a function of the strings themselves (I'm fairly sure this bass was hanging on a Guitar Center wall for some time before it was sent to me) or some other issue but it could have been a deal breaker for me had it continued past that first night. But by the second night, the tuning held and now, after almost two weeks, its still holding.

Overall, I feel the Warwick RockBass is an excellent value for the money.

GC, on the other hand, really dropped the ball. The bass is supposed to come with Warwick Security Locks. The locking pins are installed on the bass but mine did not come with the buttons to attach to a strap. I called the store than sent my the bass and after a two-day runaround was told that I should just buy my own. I then contacted customer service online and was told to contact the store. So in the end, nobody helped or thought to make it right by sending me a new set of strap locks. This is a small thing, I know, but when I spend close to grand on an instrument, I should receive everything thats supposed to come with it. GC's unwillingness to help me on something so small was a surprise and something I'll remember.
