Fantastic Bass!!

By Brian

from Boston, MA

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

I'd been playing bass for about 2-3 years before buying this bass, and when I first played the Standard Corvette, something clicked. The wooden, light body of the bass is awesome, and it seemed to fit perfectly against my side. The neck isn't especially small, but the bass is still very easy to play and has 24 frets on each string. It has a great sound, and you know you are getting a quality deal as well as bass when you purchase from Warwick. Plus, the bass looks awesome! I'd definitely recommend this bass... if you take good care of it, you'll have it for life!!!!

sweet bass

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

Before I tell you how AWESOME the Warwick Corvette (ash body) is, please know that the paint chips very easily and I am not exaggerating. Also, when it chips off it becomes white. Thankfully, I love the vintage look of abused guitars/basses so I enjoy the paint chipping, but the chipping can seem very unnatural, don't buy if you are anal about that because I was at first and it made me nuts. Anyway, I love this bass so much. The action is so good. The pickups are extremely bright through the bass amps I have tried, which I like. Please try it on different amps before you decide to buy. The wenge neck has a look to DIE FOR. The action is great and there is no buzzing. Also, this bass is very light. I love it a lot, just try to enjoy the paint chipping like I do and you won't turn back especially for the price.

Nothing Plays Like A Warwick!!!!!

By Pi-Eyed_Piper

from Michigan

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

I own and gig with several different Warwick models. The weight of this bass really impressed me. Light as Warwicks go, but a tonal power house with passive pick-ups!!! This ash body bass has all the boom, thump, snap, and growl of it's Bubinga brothers with an even lighter price tag. The set-up and intonation were spot on right out of the box. The only problem with model--in my opinion-- is that the ash body is rather soft. After my first gig with it I noticed that I had put a couple of thumb nail indents in the top from slapping and I put a little buckle-rash on the back(To be expected with a gigging instrument). They are made to play though!!! Light on the shoulder and light on the pocket book. An absolutely outstanding price on quality German craftsmanship!!!!!

The best bass in the world!

By PaulGrayfan2

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

I had been looking at basses online for a while and decided to try a Warwick corvette. I went to a music store and in the back wall of the bass room, was the burgundy red "Warwick Corvette Standard Ash." I played it once and instantly fell in love with the it! It plays like an $1800 bass! The neck is very comfortable to play! The pickups rule! The wood in the body, the wood in the neck, and the wood in the fretboard are breathtaking! I bought it and took it home. It sounds incredible, (and the amp that I played through was a Peavey starter amp)! I can play anything from jazz to rock to heavy metal on this bass! If you want an quality bass, you should definitely buy this one!

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

this bass is awsome it has a more defined, and precice sound than other basses i have played of the same price range, the pick ups are truly awsome, and though the neck is thick it is still very easy to play, and although it isnt as expensive as some of the other warwick models its still great

Awesome Warwick growl for less cash!

By BassFace-x5uGm

from Texas

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

This bass is just straight forward warwick tone. But even without the active eq featured on most warwicks you can still get a variety of sounds from hard hitting warwick growl to clean smooth jazzy tone. This is a great bass for someone looking to upgrade their rig. I would recomend it to anyone anywhere no matter what style of music you play.

Right tool for any musical job!

By Patrick

from Colorado

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

This is a very toneful well made instrument. I play a broad range of music in a variety of settings so I needed an instrument that was resilient and versatile. This bass has met all of these requirements and then some. This bass sounded great right out of the box. I was apprehensive at first about buying a bass online without playing it first. It is truly an excellent buy! This is a quality instrument!

great buy

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

I play this bass at my local guitar store everytime I get to go which is every tuesday. The neck, the feel, the craftsmanship, and even the price tag all seem to be perfect! The sound: the combination of dense dense ovangkol/wenge (two rosewoods by the way) and very vibrant swamp ash (because it's not very dense, swamp ash vibrates longer than other woods making it sustain longer and sound warmer). Gives this bass has a very warm focused woody tone. It sustains forever and it even has a very responsive sound to it unlike many other passive basses. The neck is thick and it's the thickness of the neck that gives this bass such a sustainful woody sound. The feel: this is what I think matters most in an instrument. The neck is finished very well and still retains the natural feel I love so much. With a thick neck and flat fretboard; fretplay is fast and comfortable. The quality: Right down to every little grain this bass has the best of the best and it is also built rock solid. The nut however looks to be graphite and graphite is not durable but it is adjustable and that's a nice thing to have. This bass is amazing and it's only 900 or so dollars. I am looking forward to buying one. The passive version is not very versatile but still has a very pretty sound to it. I think the passive version is what I'll end up with anyways.

Best Warwick for the Price

By Skeeter-ypkUr

from Leonard, MI

Comments about Warwick Corvette STD Ash Electric Bass:

This is one of the best warwicks, for the price at least =]The tone you get out of it is pure and amazing, which is what you would expect from warwick.. and nothing less. It's playability is huge, you can easily do slap, jazz, or metal. Anything is possible on this thing. The neck is fast to play on, and the color of it compliments the burgandy red body of the bass.IMHO if you have the money to spend, buy this bass over any other warwick in this price range. The only thing you won't like about it is it easily gets dinged up, but that's a result of a natural finished wood [or something like that, it still happens]
