If you're looking for the tightest lows and the brightest highs, the Streamer Stage II is your bass. The body is made from a non-endangered African hardwood called Afzelia which is incredibly dense and resonant. The neck is a 5-piece combination of ovangkol and afzelia that runs thru the body and is fitted with a wenge fingerboard. MEC active J/J pickups. MEC active 3-way electronics. Gold hardware.
I bought a Streamer Stage II about six months ago, used. I couldn't believe I found one used, let alone for $1300. It's only got one scratch on it, and that was there from the original owner. Everything is about it is great. I play live a lot, in several different styles, and this bass paired along with my Peavey tour 700 amp just blows everyone away. It's a great looking bass, but it's not all about looks, it plays like a charm. I've been playing for quite sometime, and this is the best bass I've owned so far. I highly recommend it, if its in your price range. Otherwise used is a good way to find great stuff for cheap.
