Raising the standard for all basses in its price range.

It's beautifully made and has that characteristic low growl for which Warwicks are famous. As with all Warwicks, it features premium tonewoods throughout: a bubinga body and 3-piece ovangkol neck with wenge fingerboard. This is a passive bass with a traditional tone and incredible punch. Fitted with MEC J/J pickups, MEC passive electronics, and chrome hardware. Includes deluxe gig bag.

  • Ovangkol 3-piece neck
  • Wenge fretboard

BEST OF THE BEST

I went into GC looking for a new bass, played alot of stuff (Fenders, Epiphones, Musicmans) and I saved the best for last. I picked up the warwick and it sounded so awesome you could not beleive it (unless you played it). Go for the active, you get this wonderful, punchy sound, and get the bubinga and not the ash because the ash feels to light, but the bubinga is one heavy sucker. Another great thing about this is it feels so real, it doens't feel synthetic like all the others. All the tools, the bag, and the wax is a plus too. Forget everything else, go for the warwick corvette.

Quality Feel

I was primarily a guitarist from the UK that?s taken up playing again after a 15 year stop. I jammed with various musicians from Black Sabbath, Magnum and Budgie back in the 80?s. So I was use to playing with good gear with very good players. I?m now looking to do some song writing and needed a bass to play but didn?t want to spend $2000 plus. I tried various other basses in the Sub $1000 price range but none of them had the sound or feel of an expensive instrument. I also tried the Warwick Rockbass but I?m sorry to say for me it didn?t live up to the Warwick name. I then played the Warwick Corvette and it just felt great. There were no comparisons at this price range. Rock, Funk everything sounded great a truly beautiful instrument. My scores weren?t 5?s because it has only basic features (no active eq) and you need to treat the wood occasionally (bit annoying)

Not bad...

Hmm...Well it is a good bass and it's fun to play, but I'd really have to seriously think about it before I'd ever think about buying another Warwick. The Corvette is a hot buy and I'm sure it's almost as popular as Fender to any bassist who's been around the block, but this thing just doesn't deliver the good stuff. Slapping, my favorite style of playing works for the Corvette but it doesn't seem like that's a specialty for it. Not only that, but its sound has become too dry. There's not enough metallic sound. It's just too woody. The neck isn't nearly as fast as my Fender, and the strangest thing I've ever seen, a floating nut. Whenever strings are changed you've gotta make sure you don't pop the thing off or outta place. Mine's become sort of upright esque. If the strings are loosened too far, the nut doesn't hold on anymore and it could just fall off at any point. All in all though, I love my Warwick. Makes me glad to own it and whenever I really need it for a concert or a recital piece, it sorta becomes a whole different beast.

I was a guitarist before I played this!

I remember the day like it was yesterday. I walked into my local GC, went straight to the Bass section, and the Bubinga Beauty caught my eye. After forty minutes of jamming on it, I turn around to see my band shows up and rave about the sound. It was a sign; I must buy this bass!!! Now, it's not perfect, but it's darn close. It weighs a lot, the body is susceptable to nicks, and the passive p/u's don't give quite the boom of an active preamp, but you will be hard pressed to find anything else wrong with the Corvette. The range of sound is incredible, and no matter which pickup is selected or where the tone control is set you will get a warm, full sound. The neck is amazingly smooth and the body is well balanced. Not to mention that the bass is absolutely beautiful. Overall, this is the perfect instrument for anyone who wants to look, sound and play like they have a several-thousand dollar bass, but who only wants to spend one thousand on it.

The BUCK stops here!!!

This is a GREAT Bass!!! I have owned at least 20 basses in the past and I will probably not buy another unless I trade my Corvette for the $$ (Double Buck) version. Great sound... great nec and set up perfectly. Worth every penny!
