Raising the standard for all basses in its price range.

It's beautifully made and has that characteristic low growl for which Warwicks are famous. As with all Warwicks, it features premium tonewoods throughout: a bubinga body and 3-piece ovangkol neck with wenge fingerboard. This is an active bass capable of a full range of modern bass tones — studio quiet and incredibly punchy. Fitted with MEC J/J pickups, MEC active 2-way electronics, and chrome hardware. Includes deluxe gig bag.

Thunderous

Sounds like a Jazz Bass on steroids. The neck is excellent and takes numerous weather changes and without moving. The bass is heavy, but well balanced. The sound of this animal was very growly and full of high end. Plenty of mids and thunderous lows too. I did not like the fretboard's rough feeling and the neck's narrow string spacing. This lead me to try other basses and sell this one. If you like the fretboard's feel and don't mind the narrow string spacing, the Warwick Corvette 5 string is a top-notch bass. The slap tone on this unit is awesome and the low-mid Warwick-growl is definitely present. Give it a try.

The Bass You Need

This bass is flat out amazing, it has the tone all of my other basses lack. Playing in a metal band, i needed something with a punch, the corvette finished the job. it is the only 5 string i own that infact keeps the low B sounding amazingly heavy yet very clear. The pre amp, as well as the distinct tones, will push the sound over the top and will amaze you..I know people who use this bass in jazz, metal, funk, and straight up rock bands and they all agree, it truly delivers the sound you need and is WELL worth the money...just make sure you stay on the upkeeping of the body and neck with the beezwax to keep it glossy and smooth..not doing so may cause darkening spots from sweat seeping into the wood..take care of it and enjoy!

You ain't heard TONE until a Warwick you own.

Sadly, I am not a bassist. I am a singer and a guitar player. But as a songwriter, I need a great bass to write melodies with. The Corvette Standard is an ideal partner because its tone just gets you instantly in a very groovy mood. It sounds amazing. You can record it directly without any processing or FX and still sounds beautiful. I never imagined a word as ugly-sounding as "bubinga" would make such a nice sounding instrument. This Warwick is heavy and big. Not very easy to manage in my small home studio. But you'll do anything anything once you hear it. You'll fall in love with it. 4th and 5th strings just plain growl!! Pickup configuration and electronics let you tailor a wide array of tones. This bass is forcing me to take my bass playing much more seriously. Tuners are very precise and sensitive. The body is comfortable and ergonomic. The wood sounds AND looks gorgeous. There is no point in me selling Warwick's virtues, you should know them already... bottomline is: this bass is literally groovy.

Great Bass

High Quality build, electronics are very quiet. good action. I play fingerstyle and have a fairly heavy attack. This bass does not give the "clickety clack" sound that so many do when the treble is turned up at all, and played Steve Harris style. Very versatile sound from the combination of the bass/treble knob and the pickup blend knob.I can get sounds from Mudvayne,Iron Maiden to Jazz. I play it with a GK 1001rb amp and a 410 cab. It is heavier than most other basses, but a wide or padded strap takes care of this. I have owned G&L, Ibanez, ESP,Fender basses. This is my main bass now. Great investment for all serious bassists.

Amazing Bass....Well worth the money!

I have dreamed about this bass for a long time. Everytime I see one at a store I have to pick it up. Well I finally decided to get one. Nothing compares to the amazing tone that a Warwick bass can produce. It's just so warm and clear. I recommend this bass to anyone and everyone. Whether the are playing jazz or blues to the heaviest metal possible. This thing can do virtually anything you want.
