Great woods and innovative electronics.

The Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck 5-String electric bass guitar is similar to the other Corvette models, but distinguishes itself with unique electronics. It features 2 powerful MEC humbuckers nestled closely in the center position, completely covering the legendary sweet-spot that so many basses miss completely. This configuration gives it a powerful, solid tone with depth and clarity.

To make it versatile, 2 mini 3-way switches let you choose humbucker, single-coil, and parallel or series operation. The passive pickups are matched to an MEC 2-band active preamp, making it a true passive/active hybrid. The Double Buck features a select swamp ash body, an ovangkol neck, bell brass frets, and high-quality hardware.

  • Great Playing

As reviewed by Ben Peltz on 4/18/2011

I bought this bass 2 years ago to replace my Ibanez 5 string, and not only was it better, it blew the Ibanez out of the water. This bass sounds fantastic, it maintains the lows of the low B and still keeps the great highs of the G. As well as the sound it plays just as well. When I play this I almost forget I'm playing a 5string. This bass is absolutely amazing.

  • You will know once you play it.

As reviewed by Peter Manolakis on 4/6/2011

I played bass guitar for over 35 years before taking the plunge into a five string bass. I was lucky enough to acquire one of these fine basses in a swap and once I realized the value I found a buyer within two days and flipped it. What a mistake, talk about seller?s remorse. During the two days between acquiring and selling it, I played this bass and after having to give her up, I just could not get it out of my head. Anyway, within a month, I had another, spent more than the original one but you know what? It was well worth it. That was a year ago, I am still loving this bass and have not had one bit of trouble with it. Now as far as my opinion of the bass itself: First of all, the sound is just amazing. This bass growls as well as any Fender Jazz bass, maybe better. Actually you can get it to a very throaty growl where the bass is practically speaking. With the 2 three way switches, and active electronics, you can get a nearly infinite number of sounds. Dial in until you get happy and you will get very happy. I recorded with this bass and it sounds just incredible. I keep making up new riffs on the bass because the tone and playability just inspire you to go to different places. Some really cool 5 string tunes written on that bass. Next is the brilliant move of using bell brass (the kind of brass they use to make bells? Yeah) out of the frets. I never tapped before, you will become a tapping fool with this bass, they ring out clear and sustained, not unlike....a bell! It?s just a joy to play. The bass feels great, the swamp ash body is light but resonant, the ovangkol neck feels great and plays really well. I heard some complain the neck was too narrow for a 5 string. Let me tell you something, I'm a big dude (6'2") with huge hands and I have no issue getting around on this bass, actually I prefer it and think the narrower neck leads to less fatigue playing. Anyway, the combination of materials, playability, sounds and killer looks have me hooked. I rarely play my 4 other basses. This is a bass well worth looking into in my opinion. Try before you buy but I bet most of you will agree, this bass has the whole package.
