Just got the speaker today and normally I wait to write a review, but the improvement this speaker made in my 1976 SF Champ is simply awesome. First, it was super easy to install. Took me all of 15 minutes. The speaker holes lined up perfectly with the lugs coming out of the amp's baffle and the speaker's cable contacts were in exactly the same place as the original. Like it was made specifically for a Champ. The speaker looked very well made, with a nice cone, solid housing and the magnet on this speaker is huge compared to the stock speaker. My ratchet handle got stuck on it as I was installing it. Took some force to free it. Then came the test drive, with the amp volume set to 4. Wow. I used my 1987 Gibson LP Standard with Seymour Duncan SH-59's. I was immediately struck by the fullness across the tonal spectrum. Chimey treble with harshness removed, beautiful full midrange and tight and powerful bass without the flub and muddiness I had before. The guitar just rang and sang. Then I dimed the amp and the natural overdrive was impressive. So much better than the original speaker. No harsh high end anymore, great tight bass and a pleasant roar that makes you want to hit power chords all day. Solo notes were clear and distinct. Plus, the speaker cleaned up great when turning the guitar volume control down; sounding just like it did on lower amp volume levels. And I still have to break this puppy in and try it with my pedalboard!! This is the absolute best thing you can do for your SF Champ if it still has the stock speaker in it. Highly recommend this speaker!!

It's a solidly made speaker, just not for me. I put it in my Fender Champion 20, and the stock speaker could do lows much better. The stock speaker is more like a T-75, with a larger dustcap. This one had a smaller dustcap than the stock one, but a larger driver. In short, it's more like a V30 in that it's focused on the lower mids, but the mids sound very boxy with this particular amp. This is all dependent on my amp, and my taste, so it may sound great in a Frontman or Mustang. For a Champion, it's a no-go for me.

Good quality speaker. Vastly improved the sound of my Vibro Champ and is sounding better and better as it breaks in.

Warehouse G8C in my '79 Vibro Champ. Not too thrilled.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G8C 8" 20W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I put this G8C in my 79' Vibro Champ because I damaged the Weber that I had in it. I took a chance for half the price of a new Weber and it was a big disappointment. It sounded thin and at higher volume, the breakup just sounded too fuzzy and cheap. It just wasn't a good compliment for this particular amp. You'll be better off spending a bit more for something a lot better.

Not my cup of tea for Tone. Sounded small and muddy. I like my Italian Jensens more, swapped back to my Mod8-20.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G8C 8" 20W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I put this in a fender front man 15, and most of you would say it's a waste to put it in that, but for someone who doesn't want to spend more right now for a new amp this is the answer. It really woke the amp up. It has a deeper, crisper sound than the stock speaker. I couldn't imagine how it sounds in a better amp. I play a gretsch thru it and I love it. It is way louder than the stock speaker also.

I purchased this speaker as a replacement for an older Fender 15 watt Squire practice amp and it was way better than the original speaker. Not expensive to purchase and it was easy to install and it sounded great on the very first note. I feel it made my little practice amp sound even better than it has ever been.

Bought this to replace the OEM speaker in my Fender Frontman 20. The swap takes just a few minutes with just a screwdriver, no soldering is necessary. The speaker makes a big difference in sound quality and is an inexpensive upgrade worth the price.

I put one of these in my 1960 Gibson Skylark GA-5 and it sounds great. Much louder than before and the clarity is great. Chimey and clear at lower volumes, but roars when you crank up the amp. Makes my Skylark a Tweed Champ killer. And the price is right!

I bought this speaker as a replacement for the factory speaker in my 1966 Blackface Fender Champ. It improved the bass response considerably and the overall tone is much better. I also gained more volume before the amp starts to break up. It is still just an 8" speaker so don't expect the bass response and overall tone of a ten or twelve, but it was a fantastic addition to my amp.
