Since late 2009, Brad Paisley has been using Wampler Pedals. He started with the Faux AnalogEcho, then got an Ego Compressor and then had the Underdog overdrive.

Everything was great until his tech at the time, Chad, mentioned that Brad still was not quite settled on the overdrive sound he was getting from his live rig. He asked if Wampler could maybe look at making a pedal?

Brads requirements were quite "simple". "It needs to be clean but get crunchy with some "beef" to it. It needs to have a fluid tone when soloing. It needs to add a little hair to the tone but then has to be able to give flat out ball busting gain. Oh but please do not wreck the tonality. It needs to have everything, in a pedal format, but do not make it sound like a pedal!"

Over a period of months, Brian at Wampler made some circuits and sent them off. There were a couple of "tweaks" here and there to be made and then finally, when official "proto #2" landed it went straight into the live rack and out on the H20world tour.

That prototype has now been made into the Brad Paisley signature "Paisley Drive" and goes with Brad wherever he goes. When you see Brad live, or performing live on the TV, and you are blown away by his overdriven tone, its the Paisley Drive.

The truly great thing about this pedal is that its not only Telecaster style guitars that it works so well with, it brings the best out of your Strat or anything you may have loaded with humbuckers. You no longer need to have individual pedals for your guitars; the Paisley Drive will make each one sing.

The built-in tonal controls, the presence and mid contour switches will make this pedal the single most versatile and complete overdrive pedal you have ever owned. In fact, it might be the last one you ever buy.

Great Buy - Incredibly Versatile

from Baltimore Maryland

You won't regret picking one of these up. I was instantly and pleasantly surprised with this pedal. It simply sounds great and plays well with other pedals making it extremely versatile. The sound is incredibly natural and amp like. I use it interchangeably with my Boiling Point for different types of drive setups and it sounds amazing in front of my Mark V as either a stand along dirt box in the clean channel or to add color to the drive channels. In short, Wampler got this one right! I would replace it instantly if anything happened to it.

Sweet Box

I bought this for my new Strat so I would have something other than a higher gain pedal to play with it. I bought an MRX FET but I wasn't happy with it's tone so I traded it in and paid the difference for the Paisley. It was my first Wampler pedal and I was blown away by how organic it sounded. I even use my old Charvel with a JB thru it. Plug in and try it out for yourself.

It's good but not sure if its worth the price

Great sounding pedal but not much different than my Fulltone Full-Drive 2, which is considerably cheaper. Maybe has a few slightly different tones but honestly I'd probably save the money and buy the Full Drive instead.

Best drive on the market

from Plymouth, mn

This pedal has the best drive tones I've heard from a pedal, amp like drive, works great with Fender, Vox, orange, and basically any amp. Great for, rock, country, or pop. You can get anything from smooth drive to high gain. Pick one up, you won't regret it!
