The Plextortion is a distortion pedal that was originally designed to emulate a “JCM800®” with Celestion Greenbacks Think of those great tones from Back in Black era AC/DC, all the way through to Van Halen, Dokken, Ratt, Guns'N'Roses and all those amazing 80's rock tones. It has a very brown sounding distortion, in a way, quite similar to the Pinnacle pedal.

It differs from the Pinnacle in that it is a tighter distortion, more like pre amp tube distortion where the pinnacle is a bit looser, more like power tube distortion. This difference, although hardly noticeable to your average person, is hugely important when looking for “that” sound. Never before has a pedal given that high gain tone that would appear to be pre-amp driven and power-amp driven.

  • Hand made in the U.S.A.
  • High grade film capacitors and resistors picked for their superior sound and response

  • Battery connection and 9v power jack (barrel plug like Boss)
  • 5 knobs - gain, volume, bass, treble, mids giving you complete tonal control
  • 1 toggle switch adds in presence and clarity if needed
  • Power draw: 12mA
  • 2.50" x 4.50" (63.5mm x 114.3mm)

Great pedal

By Joseph

from Niagara Falls, ON Canada

I bought this pedal used from Guitar Center and am so glad I did. I own two Strats, a Tele and a Les Paul and run them throught a custom built Deluxe Reverb amp. The amp doesn't have a gain stage which is one reason I bought this pedal. I have and still own several great overdrive pedals but have never been happy with any distortion pedal until now. This pedal takes my deluxe amp and makes it sound like a Marshall stack. Wampler just makes some amazing pedals.

Marshall in a box

By Patrick Lynn

from Woodinville

Use this guy as my main distortion sound on my board, if you like jcm800 tones this guy does it! I have jcm2000 dsl100 super lead and the Plextortion can emulate the same lead tones. Whats great about wampler pedals is the clean roll off on the volume. 5 stars for sure. I use effect pedals in the chain and this guys handles them great, use a MXR EQ as my boost for lead it really drives great paired with the Plextortion. Have had this pedal for over a year and no issue's.

JCM in a box pedal

By Doug Breland

from Los Angeles

This is a great distortion pedal, but what I like about this pedal is that it has a "chunkie" bottom. I believe this pedal is better for barre chord riffing than for solo leads (although it can do that too) This is a good pedal for hotter blues playing that doesn't get thin. Where the Pinnacle shines from the 10 fret up, this pedal shines on the lower side, well that's the blues"D" opinion
