Good guitar but poor service from the warehouse

By Jean Paul F. Friquin

from Fort Wayne, Indiana

Comments about Voyage Air Songwriter VAMD-04 Travel Acoustic Guitar:

The guitar is up to the expectations: good quality, light, good finish, and ++ but the delivery service is disappointing. After tracking online my guitar travelling from East to west, then East again before being finally dispatched to its final destination was nerve wracking. After a week of patience, I finally went to pickup the guitar at the Guitar Centre in Fort Wayne, IN. Amidst my excitement to have hands on my new guitar, i noticed in the very last minute before leaving the shop, that they had sent me a guitar of a different colour that i had ordered which was some $20 more. As i was repeatedly being told by the shop manager: "There was a mistake made by the warehouse, and there is nothing else to do than wait for them to ship me my correct order until monday" (It was then a Friday), I just didnt give up on me footing the bill for their carelessness. I proposed and insisted to keep the guitar until they sent me a new(and correct) one, i would not be footing the bill for the carelessness of the dispatch crew at the warehouse. I eventually got my wish(es) granted and got a refund in cash of $20. One piece of advice to all, check your product carefully on receipt and know your rights (if you don't, get informed).

Very Surprising Guitar

By David Balaban

from MD

Comments about Voyage Air Songwriter VAMD-04 Travel Acoustic Guitar:

I'm genuinely surprised at the great sound coming from this guitar. I've got the black top version, which I purchased for travel since I can't always tote around my other guitars. I think I've owned about 6 or 7 acoustic guitars throughout the years. I also regularly play a friend's beautiful 1960s Martin 00-18. I can't say that the VAMD-04 sounds better than an amazing vintage 00-18, but I can say that the VAMD more than holds it own in its price range. Its a quality instrument, less gimmick and more instrument than I would have thought. I'll use it with a smile when I travel, and since it sounds so good I'll also use it when I play the odd coffee house or small venue - save a little wear and tear on my other guitars.
