Compact, effective, sounds good. the head phone amp does every thing it is advertised to do plus. The directions are minimal, however available in several languages. It would be helpful to have a more complete source of information on what the the various controls do. Still have not figured out what tone and blend really do specifically. That however is not particularly important. I simply adjusted the tone, blend and the controls on the guitar until the sound was pleasing. I have not touched them since. As one of the previous reviewers noted the best sound was achieved with Bose Quiet Comfort head phones I agree. The head phone amp also works well with the standard Apple ear buds and a pair of high end ear buds. I actually use the pocket amp with the apple ear buds most often for convenience. One additional application I discovered, is that you can get surprisingly good sound by connecting the Head Phone Amp to a portable music system. Use the cable that connects a MP3 player or I Pod to the system.I connected mine to a Bose Sound Dock. The Sound Dock I have can be battery powered, this opens a whole new world of places we can play and sound good.
This is a nice little headphone amp. I live in an apartment, and I like to play late at night. So, I plug this bad boy in, flip on the neck pick-up, and jam away. Rechargeable batteries are a good idea, if you plan on using it daily, for more than an hour or so at a time. But it's a nice little amp, definitely look into if you need to be quiet, or even if you just want to practice and not be heard muffing up the classics. Rock on.
This amplug is a perfect size. I love the look of the classic vox amp. I'd buy again and recommend anyone in the market for a pocket amp.
The Vox amplug Acoustic does exactly what the specs and product info say it does...It's small, works on simple triple A batteries and simply provides the user with means of practicing privately. And yes, the sound is a very refined acoustic guitar that sounds great through my BOSE quiet comfort head phones. For the price, it's pretty much a no-brainer. Oh...don't forget. You can plug your ipod into the Amplug and hear your favorite backing track along with your "silenced" guitar. Add a Traveler guitar to the mix and you can take your music anywhere you go.
