Overview

The StompLab series of effect pedals are impressive new contenders that pack powerful sounds into compact and sophisticated looking metal bodies. Sound variations are categorized by style, such as rock, blues, and ballad, making it easy for even novice users to recall the desired sound. In addition to the StompLab IG's dedicated guitar modeling and the StompLab IB dedicated bass modeling, the lineup also includes the StompLab IIG and IIB which provide an expression pedal. With high-quality looks, plus its high quality sound, the StompLab series will be a great companion for the guitarist or bassist for years to come.

First check out the sounds!
Multi-effects units contain an incredibly diverse array of sounds that range from distorted to clean, and the sheer number of these sounds can be staggering. Although having a large number of sounds is a great advantage, it can also overwhelm the novice user, causing difficulty or confusion. The StompLab series is designed to be easily usable, even by novice players. Since each program is named with a musical style, such as rock, blues, or metal. You'll be able to find the perfect sound without being concerned with specific effect names. The musical styles are categorized into ten types, and cover everything from straight-ahead traditional styles to quirky, unusual sounds. There are ten variations for each category, so you're sure to find sounds you like.

Create your own original sounds!
Simply playing the preset sounds is a lot of fun, but you'll definitely want to create some of your own original sounds as well. The StompLab IIG contains 104 types of modeling effects. These effects are categorized as pedal, amp, drive, cabinet, modulation, delay, and reverb effects. When noise reduction is included, you can use up to 8 of them simultaneously. Each effect type provides multiple parameters that you can deeply edit to create your perfect sound. Since the sound engine is equivalent to those featured on the worldwide best-selling VT+ series of modeling amps and the ToneLab series of multi-effect units, you need no further guarantee of quality. Sounds you create can be saved as 20 user programs.

It looks great!
The StompLab series was designed with great care, not only for its sounds, but also for its superb aesthetic. You'll never get tired of the cool metallic exterior. The pedal design is reminiscent of the vintage VOX wah pedals, which is sure to boost inspiration. One of the attractions of the StompLab series is the high-quality appearance, which is unheard of among other compact multi-effect units. It sounds excellent, it looks great and it's compact enough to fit into a gig bag, so you can take it along with you anywhere your music takes you, quickly and easily.

Use the expression pedal for realtime control!
The StompLab IIG and IIB are equipped with an expression pedal that can be used to control wah and volume, and also the parameters of each effect. You'll be free to create unique original sounds that you've never heard before.

Packed with convenient functions including a tuner!
The StompLab series has a built-in chromatic tuner, so you won't need to provide one separately. The three-LED indicator makes tuning easy. For convenience on stage, there's a mute function that lets you tune without being heard by others. Headphones can also be connected, so you'll be able to play at home late into the night without disturbing anyone. Battery operation makes these units easily portable, letting you enjoy serious sound from your guitar or bass wherever you go.

Comments about Vox StompLab IIG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor:

I bought a Vox VT40+ for my first amp and liked the layout, quality, and selection of effects so much I eventually purchased this one to run with my Mesa Mini Rectifier and 2x12. For the price it's really hard to find a reason not to buy one, I'm almost certain you'll find something you like about it. For me it's the distortions, great for modern rock and metal.

Comments about Vox StompLab IIG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor:

The Stomplab 2G is quite small compared to other multi effects pedals. The foot pedal is tiny, but still very usable. I love the way this unit sounds! It has a ton of presets which sound very good to me, and you can tweek them if you like.
For the price......This little thing is hard to beat! it is quiet, no hum, or noise at all.
If you are looking for a multi effect pedal that sounds Great, Does Not Cost An Arm & A Leg.....This Is It!!
One thing I would advise if you get one.....Buy the power supply! It does not come with one and runs on batteries otherwise. (4 AA ) Which can be useful at times. The down side of batteries is you have to unscrew the bottom cover in order to change them. Just get the power supply and avoid the hassle of batteries.

        Great Pedal for the price

        By Brian

        from Lebanon, Pa

Comments about Vox StompLab IIG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor:

I am very pleased with this pedal. Most of the factory effects are great to use. However I don't really use the hardcore/ Metal effects hardly at all. They don't really fit into my playing style. The Gain and level knobs are a great added feature which you can adjust the main effect. With the built in tuner I don't need to use a tuning pedal or a separate battery operated tuner. I mainly use the Ballad, Jazz, Blues, Pop Rock n Roll, Rock, Some of the metal effects, other and the user settings. I have custom made a few effects which is really easy to do. The Pedal works great and is very easy to control the level and sound of the effects. I priced out other single effect pedals and with each one costing around 80-100 dollars for each effect pedal, which would cost you a few thousand dollars. This pedal does most standard effects flawlessly and with a wide sound range for each effect. Just an FYI I have been playing the guitar for about 20 years now. I mainly play country western, rock, and Christian music with some heavy metal mixed in. Each genre I play works well with this pedal on both an acoustic (Breedlove) and electric (Fender Stratocaster). I highly recommend it for anyone looking to add to their effects pedal library.

Comments about Vox StompLab IIG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor:

This thing is simple, sturdy, and is capable of providing enough variation to be useful, not too noisy, and the pedal is not too small. Best of the multiboxes at the $150 class, and it's well under that price point.

        great Vox Box

Comments about Vox StompLab IIG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor:

Having bought most of the higher priced Guitar and Bass effects, this unit is good at its price point. It is relatively static free, when using cables and it is user friendly. this has a small volume pedal but other that this it is a solid 3 star and worth the price.

        Nice little unit!

Comments about Vox StompLab IIG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor:

OK, this is my first multi-effect effects board, having used separate stompboxes for 30+ years. I got this because I needed something easy to transport and set up in my prison gig, and I needed some specific effects: compression, reverb, and volume pedal, to create swells, for example; that's at least three separate pedals in my old setup. Before buying this, I took a look at the manual, and it had all these and a lot more, and it looked pretty easy to program. Turns out that it is indeed very easy to program, very intuitive, at least for setting up presets; it's not so easy to modify on the fly, except for overall drive and level. The sounds are fine, not digital sounding at all, at least to me. It's also very small, fits in my guitar's gig bag. This is also a downside, because the pedal is also very small, about a third the length of my foot, and I'm used to an old Morley wah/volume pedal that's full-sized. The buttons are pretty small, too. Still, the pedal is very smooth and pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it, it does what I need it to do. Besides standard effects (phase shifter, wah, flanger, ...) and reverb/echo, it has a ton of amp models, which frankly I don't use, I use amps to create the amp sound I want, but that's just my philosophy. But the amp setups have very strong EQ capabilities, with bass/mid/treble and presence adjustments, and you can set up a "straight-through" sound, i.e., no amp modeling, and still use the EQ. I play a Telecaster through it, with no EQ, and an electric violin that needs EQ big time, and it works like a charm. The tuner works well, and you can easily switch to bypass and mute modes for tuning or just to go straight into your amp. It seems like a solid unit, although I haven't had it into the prison yet, just to our rehearsals. It doesn't eat batteries much, I'm still on the original set that came with it (4 AAs). Besides the small pedal, my only other complaint is that it has 120 presets, of which only 20 are user-modifiable. I don't find many of the other 100 all that useful, and wish they had reversed that situation. However, my goal of easy transport and setup is well-met by this device. It certainly is worth the price, less than most of my single-purpose boxes.
