Overview

The VOX Coiled Cable provides a clean, more accurate sound, eliminating noise and interference that compromise performance. Vox uses unique audiophile grade materials and technology to give you the best possible performance.

Conventional guitar cables compromise performance through the use of lower grade conventional copper conductors. This can result in signal loss and distortion that cause lower definition, poor dynamics, and lifeless sound. VOX Coiled Cables use the finest grade OFC copper conductors that give you better clarity and a more natural sounding midrange. This material is seldom used for guitar cables, and is world renowned in audiophile circles. The unique multi-gauge design uses conductor types that are optimized for their particular frequency ranges, and this results in a fuller sound that is much more dynamic and more natural. In the past, coiled cables have suffered from poor sound quality, but the multi-gauge construction has allowed Vox to eliminate many of the undesirable qualities of typical coiled cables giving you one that is truly musical.

They are about 9 feet before they start to 'stretch' out and you can feel them stretch - took me a little while to get used to the tug on stage. very good quality - better than expected. I got the silver one, which basically means clear. it will never get tangled like a telephone cord. they don't fall straight to the ground, so you got to be aware and avoid getting yourself tangled in it. love being able to see my lead so easily.

I may have bought a dud, but for $35 dollars I expected something that would last longer than a week. For one week I plugged my guitar in using this cord and life was good. After a week, being today I started playing and noticed static and nasty popping sounds. At first I thought it was my cab or effects, but after problem shooting, it was the cord. What a rip off. It wasn't like I was running around and playing rough with the cord. Nope, simply just sitting down and playing some tunes. So sad the cord looks so cool, but this will be my first and last vox cord I buy. Buyer be ware.

Great Cable, All-Around

By Nicholas

from St. Paul, MN

Just an awesome cable, all-told. It is substantially heavier than a conventional cable, which takes some getting used to, but it feels durable and the sound is pristine. The 90-degree input is perfect for any guitar with a side input, and the 9 inches or so of straight cable leading up to the input is the perfect distance from strap lock to input on my Les Paul, no need for a loop of cable to protect the guitar's input from tugging. Cable stretches from 6 to about 30 feet.

Solid Cable

By Craig Miller

from Lititz, PA

I certainly can't write a book on a guitar cable. I'm not a tech expert to tell you all about the quality of the signal that is getting through etc but I will say it does sound cleaner and sharper than some of the less expensive cables I have. What I like about it is first - it is solid. At jam sessions and such folks are accidentally stepping on it and not a problem to be had. The second nice feature is the space it takes up (or doesn't take up). My practice area in my house is limited in floor space so the coiling feature make it nice and keeps it from getting all tangled up with pedal board cables etc. Finally at the risk of dating myself it is a throw back to the old cables that came with some of the Preston and other Fender amps back in the 60's, kind of memory lane thing.

Reach and style

By Richard Quintana

from Wichita, KS

I picked one of these (in black) up a few months ago.had seen this on the site and liked the idea of a cord that could stretch. I tend to move around a lot and I don't like accidentally dragging things around. I also wanted an angle end so that tucking through my strap wasn't as hard on the jack. I've seen that people say it's heavy, but I don't really notice any weight difference: with a 5-string bass on your shoulder, an extra couple of ounces doesn't make that much difference. What does make a difference is that now I can move naturally without pulling anything around. It stays nicely coiled and just the right length for up to about 15 feet without any notable drag or tension. After that it starts to pull taut, but it takes about 20 feet before you're even likely to displace a stompbox. You also gotta give Vox credit for the look. It definitely looks retro and gives a little bit of flash in a part of your gear that you wouldn't expect to be flashy.

Great quality product

By Michael Matonti

from Philadelphia, PA

Great cord. Its heavy and durable and will put you at ease with out worrying about tripping over your cables on stage. It take a little getting used to but not as to inconvenience you. It has sort of a retro look to it and definitely exemplifies the quality you come to expect from VOX.

A little bit too heavy..

By Cibele Antunes Mendes

from Brazil

Top notch cable. But there are others cables, as good as this one, that are not that heavy. It's ok if you're seated but after 1-2 hours on your foot + if you have a heavy guitar it makes difference. But it has a style, if you're into it.

Awsome

By Bjarne Nielsen

from Rochester, NY

It's great. It's silent, has never tangled, and because it's coiled, it packs up and stores very well, unlike conventional straight cables that have tendency to twist and knot. Plus, it looks sweet. A tiny problem is that it is tightly coiled so it sometimes pulls whatever it's plugged into, but other than that I love it.

The Best!

By Joe Evers

from Boston

I am used to cheap cables, i didn't think it made the slightest difference. And then, i got a pedal, which needed another cable. I saw this, and just the look itself made me get it. So i take it home and i plugged it in to my little Fender practice amp. And i was so shocked. This is AMAZING!! Nice full sound, it gets very good bass, and made it sound 5 times better! Also, it doesn't get tangled, ever. And it comes with its own little bag (which is very sturdy), which makes it easy to carry around, and you don't have to worry about other cables getting tangled around it. I highly recommend this, I too was kinda skeptical about paying more than 20$ for a cable, but trust me, it makes a difference.

Retro Cool

By Joseph

from Chicago, IL

Just received it. I got the black one. Very thick and tough-should last. I have it hanging over in front of my Vox amp. To say it added "cool" to my amp (and me) is an understatement. From a more practical standpoint, I feel more at ease in moving around on stage without the fear of tripping over the cable. If you are looking for retro cool, this cable is for you.

i bought the vox coil cable in black-very well made and say what you will about spending on cables ,they do make a difference in sound and noise reduction.this cable came in a very nice carrying pouch and hasn`t tangled not even once.the gold plugs and and high quality cable make this a very usable and seemingly durable piece of gear.i dig the old school vibe, lotta pictures of guys like hendrix using a coil cord. thanks to vox and g.c. mkimbrell
