You won't have to dig deep to get great sound out of the VOX Pathfinder 15R Guitar Amp with Reverb. This player-friendly combo packs a ton of top-notch features and killer VOX sound into a package that's affordable and easy to use. It features 15W of power, a single 8" Bulldog speaker, gain boost, tremolo, and spring reverb.

Both the boost and tremolo are footswitchable via an optional VFS2 dual footswitch, offering you even more performance power. (See accessory box on this page.)

I purchased my Vox Pathfinder Combo from Guitar Center and couldn't wait to crank it up at my home studio. This little amp rocks! I couldn't have expected more from a small 15 watt combo. I had the walls vibrating from the awesome power this little moster produced. Hook it up to a Marshall 4x12 cabinet and you won't believe your ears. No fancy effects or special features just a warm Tube-like tone with old-school distortion. This is a good-looking, reliable and compact combo. Buy it and you'll blow away much larger amps and have your bandmates amazed.

Better than more expensive tube amps

By RochesterLoner

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

I really think that this is the best value I have ever come across in a little amp. These things sound great, and have a very tube-like feel. The speaker is excellent for a cheap amp, and these little things can roar, too. The reverb is even decent, as is them trem. These things are just gems. I highly recommend running themthrough bigger speakers, too. I have several very nice tube amps, and the distortion on this thing has a great character that can compete reasonably with many of them. I have two of these and one of the Pathfinder 10s.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

wow what a great amp. got it because it had a line out that did not switch off the speakers and previous reviews. the reviews sold it, i have never bought sound equipment without testing first. in this case i trusted the reviewers. i could not be happier. Instruments that I have played through this amp include: G&L ASAT Special Tribute Series DaSilva acoustic/electric ukulele (straight in and with RL Baggs preamp) Noname Fretless bass All instruments gave true sound (Bass and Ukulele) and the G&L with the gain gave great bluesy tone. Fantastic - Add to the Cart!

VOX Pathfinder 15R

By lizardking

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

I really like this amp, great vintage tone. Loud enough for home (perfect for practice and using in acoustic and percussion jams) or small venue use. I use this amp with an acoustic electric I made, (single coil strat neck) and get really great tone. the boost disengaged allows me to maintain the acoustic tone of the guitar (strumming) and I get nice jazz tone for scale soloing with it on. The tremolo on this amp is superb. Not too noisy, great 50's surf tone. Boss Tremolo pedal, and Fender Vibrolux, have alot of pink noise when engaged. Have not had the chance to use this for recording, but if you like the tremolo then this is probally your best bet for recording purposes.

This is a Big little amp

By Dr. Joe Baldassarre

from Boise, Idaho

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

The Vox Pathfinder is a lot of amp for the price. I compared it to other brands with similar power and in the same price range. The others either had cheap parts, distorted at moderate volume, or had ridiculous features. The Pathfinder is built as solidly as their stage amps, is simple to use, and has the basic (and usable) effects: Gain/Volume, Spring Reverb, and Tremolo. The tone ranges from warm to piercing and clean to grungy.

Great Amp for the Price

By Cobblestoneblues

from Undisclosed

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking for a amp for my guitar that wasn't too expensive, and I found this amp. It's got a good sound, good clean, ok distortion. The reverb is cool, and the tremolo is pretty cool.

I Love My Pathfinder 15R

By BFV102290

from Novelty, OH

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

I love my Pathfinder 15R. I made sure to get one with reverb, for the amazing stereo/echo type of sound. I leave the reverb up all the time. I also love all of the other features built in this amp, such as tremolo and gain. The boost button is really cool to because I like making my clean chanel louder. I use this amp while performing on stage (with a mic approx 5" away) and am confident that it will produce the cleanest, classy, high-quality sound out of a lot of 15-20 watt practice amps. It is a bit heavy, but I still think it's well worth it, and I picked up this amp for the same $119.00 in October 2004. Overall, I think it's one of the most equiped practice amps out there for something in this price range.

Great amp. Great price

By Mike

from norman, ok

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a great little practice amp. It has so much character. I can recreate all kinds of tones. I play lenny by srv, beat it by EVH, and a bunch of stones stuff and replicate the tone of each. My only complaint is that the reverb isn't all that great. I generally crank it all the way up or turn it all the way off. The in betweens don't add anything to the sound imo. This amp will inspire you to play more

Use it with pedals!

Comments about Vox Pathfinder V9168R 15w 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a great little amp, in this price range is hard to get a nice and warm clean sound, but this one does it great. I have a Standard Telecaster and with a Boss SD-1 it give me great, round and warm sound. Awesome for classic rock and blues... and i mean, it's a Vox, it's made for that, if you want metal sound go with peavey o marshal...
