Fun Lil' amp

By Jay

from Marietta, GA

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

I have to say I am VERY surprised at this amp. I bought it with the intention of using it to record once and then give it to my daughter as a practice amp....WRONG! This is Daddy's new recording amp! Very solid (and simple) bass tones for blues and rock...can't jack the volume past 8 or it starts to get a bit farty...but it's plenty loud on 5 and is perfect for recording. Super simple tone stack too... Gotta hand it to Vox on this one. 5 stars for simplicity.

Great Clean Practice Amp

By John

from Denver, CO

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

This is a great amp for any one looking for great vintage looks and nice clean tones. The overdrive channel gets a little dirty and becomes unmusical when turned up. The clean channel with lots of gain has a great clean tone with that subtle overdrive that gets close to tube amp quality.

Rockin' little dude!

By Sam

from Houston "gitdown", Texas

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

Bought this amp just to toy around with a bass I was given by a friend and DANG! was I surprised. This thing looks like a toy. but darn sure doesn't sound like one. I will keep up with most 40W combo's in a heartbeat. Perfect for practice or just jammin'.

Great Practice Bass Amp

By Rick Gaston

from Villa Rica, GA

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

I use this amp weekyl to practice with my bass. It has a really great sound and can get plenty loud enough to overcome medium to loud drum playing. I play on an accoustic brand setup on stage, and I only use this VOX for practice, but I much prefer the sound and tones that you can hear through the VOX. The VOX just lets so much more sound quality through (also a basic difference between accoustic and electric bass amps in my opinion). When you start to add distortion with the gain control, I feel like the overall quality of the sound starts to deteriorate (which it should I guess) but just be aware that if you are into playing your bass with fuzz or distortion, I think you could put some more money out and get something better. As for getting a nice clean bass sound, this amp is just great.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

I got this little amp for my 12 year old daughter to carry back and forth to her lessons. She loves it. It sounds great and it's easy to carry. We tried a lot of other small amps but they all sounded terrible. She loves the looks as well and keeps it in her room which causes her to practice more.

    Good Amp for Size

    By Eric

    from Franklinville, NJ

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

This is a great little amp. It stinks that the only way for me to get it was online being that no local stores had it but it was definitely worth it. It just sounds better then plugging the bass into a guitar amp that has bass settings. It clean and has not one sound problem at almost any volume. I would definitely say take a chance and get it if you are looking for a small practice/travel amp that has good volume and great sound.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

The best sounding small amp out there for bass. My daughter needed something to carry back and forth to lessons and this was perfect. She keeps it in her room and practices more since it is right there. We tried several other small amps and none could compare as far as sound goes.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

The sound is good but does not have the fullness of bass that I get from my Yamaha vx55B with it's 15" Speaker. One advantage the Vox has over my Yamaha is that I can play my bass at lower volumes without disturbing the rest of my family or having to use the headphone jack. Another advantage is that with its light weight and small size I can take the Vox to my workplace and stash it under the desk and get in some practice during my break times. On the down side, the Treble and Bass knobs don't seem to vary the tone much. The bright button doesn't seem to alter the tone at all. I don't really play with distortion so I wish that Vox would have replaced the bright button and gain knob with built in a compressor and/or limiter.
