The amPlug series of palm-sized headphone guitar amps make it easy to enjoy great guitar/bass sounds at home, in your room, or anywhere. This lineup is now joined by the amPlug Joe Satriani signature model, which borrows freely from the VOX/Joe Satriani line of signature pedal effects.
With its bright red body, the amPlug Joe Satriani delivers the awesome sound of Joe Satriani's custom rig-distortion pedal through a high-gain vacuum tube amplifier, followed by a delay-and reproduces the settings created by Joe himself. Inspired by the distortion circuitry of the VOX/Joe Satriani Satchurator pedal, the amPlug Joe Satriani preserves much of the pick attack to create an articulate, playable distortion.
Flick the switch to activate the analog-style delay effect. Inherited from the "Lo-Fi mode" of the VOX/Joe Satriani Time Machine delay pedal, the delay features Joe's distinctive EQ tone, combining both high-pass and low-pass filters.
Use the aux input jack to plug your CD/MP3 player right into the amPlug Joe Satriani and jam along! Play along with Joe Satriani's classic tunes, or with any of your favorite music. Enjoy the amPlug's extreme play-anywhere portability, with up to eleven hours of battery life. You can also connect the optional amPlug Cabinet (sold separately) and create your own miniature amp stack!

I like to practice and keep the peace, so I thought I would try this. Positives are: It has adjustable tone, distortion, and volume, with a delay on/off. The distortion level can be adjusted and sounds like a fairly clean bluesy tone when backed off a bit. It has an aux in jack for jamming along with mp3 tracks. Negatives: Not a very full sound. I ran through my amp to check to confirm this. If you have a guitar with a recessed jack like my LTD GL200 Kamikaze, you will need a 90 degree elbow adapter to work. Those are about $5. So practice in peace, love and harmony!
I purchased the Joe Satriani aprox. two months a go so, I've had a lot of time to spend playing with it and it's very impressive. I run it through all three of my guitars and just love the sound quality. I use it in the early mornings and late nights and it doesn't bother anyone. I have tons of backing tracks downloaded on my G-Pad and I can go anywhere to play. The only thing I suggest, is dump the batteries that come with the unit and throw in some Duracells. They have a longer life span. To Me, this was a good purchase and I'm very satisfied with the Satriani for blues or rock. The sound quality is really unbelievable for such a small pocket size device. I just got this from GC online. I am pretty happy with it. It seems a little noisy but I got around that by turning my guitar up and the volume on the "Vox Amplug Joe Satriani Headphone Amp" down. I am going to buy rechargeable batteries as I am concerned about how long batteries last. I really like the sound and the delay is great. So now I don't drive my wife nuts when I practice while watching TV
I was looking for a way to play in the later hours of the night without waking the whole house. After watching youtube videos, and reading reviews I decided to go for one of these guys. And boy, these little amps are pretty amazing! I'm a huge Satch fan, so I decided on this one. Not disappointed! This thing can nail his tone, and beyond. You can get a pretty ridiculous amount of really great sounding tones from this thing. With the gain turned up, you get anything from a great heavy rock tone, to Joe's signature melodic sound. Roll off on the volume knob, and you get a very nice clean. It has an awesome delay too, which is based of Joe's Time Machine pedal from vox, and can be toggled on or off. Overall this amp far exceeded my expectations. Big thank's to Vox and Joe for creating this little tone monster.
