Overview

The Vox JamVOX puts together an audio monitor and software so you can extract the guitar from any MP3 and plug into the mix of your favorite bands. Use JamVOX to create instant jam tracks from any song. Best of all, you play lead guitar backed by the original band members.

JamVOX gives guitarists instant access to dozens of legendary amps and effects all in one easy-to-use, drag-and-drop software interface with included audio monitor. With JamVOX' Revolutionary Guitar XTracktion (GXT) technology you remove the guitar part of your favorite songs with the push of a button. Alternatively, you can extract or isolate the guitar part, slow down the tempo on the backing track, and practice any style of music without changing the pitch.

The Vox JamVOX guitar practice tool includes authentic software models that recreate 19 famous guitar amps and 54 vintage and modern effects. You'll be able to perfectly reproduce the sounds of your favorite guitarists. Vox also accompanies the JamVox guitar practice system with a dedicated full-range USB monitor speaker, so there's no need for complex wiring or any specialized knowledge of computer music. I have had this practice amp for a few months now and I must say that it is very solid. It is very easy to instal and the software is quite easy to pick up. The sound of the amp is very good. And the sounds that you can get from it are quite impressive. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to refine their sound or anyone who wants to record themselves.

I'm a fairly experienced musician and bought this for the GTX software to remove the leads from songs. I just got hooked up with a cover band, playing lead, a first for me, and wanted something to help me get tons of songs down quickly. We do plenty of old stuff that was recorded in mono, which the GTX just totally doesn't work with, so that sucked. On more modern stereo songs, it's so so, not great and really, if this is why you want this thing, skip it and pay a few bucks for iRehearse software. It doesn't remove the lead guitar, but this doesn't do a great job either, but it will slow a song down without changing pitch, change pitch without changing speed, and loop a part for practicing. If you want it for a practice amp, if you have any experience and know what a good tone is, this will disapoint. get a little practice amp, even the cheapest sound better and really, as a musician you should turn off the computer and just play sometimes.

jamvox!

By TBG

Comments about JamVOX Guitar Jam and Practice Tool:

when i first got this thing i almost took it back b/c i couldn't figure out how to use it. it's not real user friendly and the software definitely has some issues. but since i've gotten it to work it's pretty cool. the gxt thing is ok but honestly i haven't gotten to that part of it yet. it's got so many sounds, pedals and amps to mess with, it will keep you busy for hours. plus the price just dropped so it's definitely worth it if you need something to practice and keep you playing. the best thing about it is being able to plug into a headphone jack so i don't annoy my wife with constant blues riffs haha. it's sounds 10 times better than plugging headphones into an amp. i'd reccommend it to anybody, it's a fun toy if you like the electric guitar.

Good hardware / Not so great Software

By MV

from Chicago, IL

Comments about JamVOX Guitar Jam and Practice Tool:

Honestly the JamVox is very cool, the software is excellent and welcoming to a beginner to advanced. I chose this over a Line6 GPort XT. Has some very cool features such as an input for pedal/foot switch. Line input/output (L/R Mono). Mic input, etc. Mostly every port is 1/4 just FYI if you're doing home recording. So get a Y Cable (1/8 Stereo to 2 1/4 Mono) if you're using headphones. Only issue I have with the JamVox is the software. Seem to be having a lot of issues running it on Windows 7 x64.

Awesome Software!!!!

By Devan

from Victorville,CA

Comments about JamVOX Guitar Jam and Practice Tool:

I was looking for a better recording device than AcidPro...don't get that. When my guitar teacher recommended it to me I had to go and check it out for myself. What I got was more than just a recording software...it was like stepping into the shoes of my favorite artists...Van Halen, Eric Clapton and so many others. Gets this and you will fall in love with music all over again

JanVox Rules

By Daddude

from Meridian, MS/Corpus Christi, TX

Comments about JamVOX Guitar Jam and Practice Tool:

Just received the JamVox a couple days ago. Awesome. It allows me to sample some of the hottest effects, cabnets, and amp heads out there, without spending mass amounts of dough. I've already laid down multiple tracks that I can loop as backup while I solo or jam and add parts. The JamVox is a must have practice tool/music creation interface for all guitarists. Easy set-up. Controls are easy to master (no complicated manuals or steep learning curve). Pull out, load software, plug in, and JAM. Get one you will not be sorry.

Biggest Bang For The Buck!!

By Doug

from RSM, CA

Comments about JamVOX Guitar Jam and Practice Tool:

I grabbed one of these when i got the January mailer and saw the $75 price. I'm not a computer geek but found that the JamVOX was super easy to set up even on my 3 year old MacBook. The software that came with it has been updated and was also easy to download and install. After everything was set up, it took about 15 minutes of messing around to understand what i could do with this. Play, record, loop, overdub and much more. I've purchased other software/interfaces (not high end professional stuff) in the past and was disappointed due to the non-user friendly operation and also the guitar signal latency (delay). The JamVOX is very user friendly and also has the lowest signal latency of all the other interfaces i have used. For the money, i think it's the best out there. Dislikes: It would be really cool if the hardware had the capability to be used as a little practice amp when not hooked up to a computer. Quality: As far as quality goes, i've only owned it for a few weeks but it seems to be very well built. I haven't had any issues at all. I saw them selling at Musicians Friend (stupid deal of the day) for $69.00 and ordered another that i'll set up at work.

Great Idea, poor execution

By Jim W

from Chicago, IL

Comments about JamVOX Guitar Jam and Practice Tool:

I was really excited to try the Jamvox. I'm a living room rock star, and play along with my favorite tunes. I've been doing it over 30 years. The GXT feature, works reasonably well, but I think the guitar tones are really bad. The low end on any distorted tone is really loose and muddy.
