This amp is a sweet deal. It looks cosmetically awesome and has a beautiful tone. The distortion channels are perfect overdrive 1 for your bluesy B.B. King sound and overdrive 2 for your more modern rock distortion. The problem i had with this amp is it lacks serious volume. I know many a folk have said "oh yeah its loud. " maybe if your playing in a church. I had to crank all volumes on full and still was lacking the volume. If your just a guy sitting in a bedroom playing for fun this is for you. If you are someone gigging and wanting to be heard I don't think this will fit the bill. At the very least I would strongly recommend trying one before buying one and do not go on the reviews and youtube videos alone. I did and was sadly disappointed.

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great clean channel. Tone cut is excellent dial. Really controls the high end noises. Overdrive is great for bluesy sound and extra overdrive can give you a really hard rock/ metal sound if you set the dials correct. Volume keeps up with my 9 piece band. Good buy for the price

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm surprised how big it is, it can barely fit on the kitchen table, I was expecting something much smaller in size. but it's just as big as a "real" ac30 I suppose. It's a good intermediate amp. Has tube/valve in the preamp stage. Sounds warm enough, I really dig vox's Valvetronix VR technology it feels/sounds like the real deal imo.

Cosmetically good, neat, expected Vox quality. It has only a single channel input and is a bit bright, i add more bass than normal so it lacks some bottom end at lower volumes but comes out at higher/pushed volume for some reason. Theres no line out or fx loop or TREMOLO either sadly just ext. speaker n footswitch. Nifty channel switch dirty/clean variety with od1,od2, sounds believable, very good. You have to 'dial it in' like any vox amp to get a particular tone but i like that it requires a little bit more attention/tuning to rly appreciate it.

You can push it like a 'real' AC30 which is nice and get that nice natural breakup. Also the digital reverb is surprisingly weak I would say at least on mine, if reverb is important then I would look at a fender amp maybe but u don't rly need it. Has tremendous versatility and unique character.

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've used the Vox AC30-Valve Reactor amplifier for rehearsals and gigs. I've owned a couple of Vox Amps, these include the Vox AC15c1, AC50CPH, and the mighty AC30c2. This VR amp is a nice aproximation of the classic Vox sound, however anyone thinking this is going to sound the same as any of the AC models I mentioned above is going to be a little let down. Don't get me wrong- this is a great amplifier! Much more usable sounds than other "british" amps in this price range. It has a nice clean natural sound which does have a unique timbre but is more versatile than it seems. I've gigged with it and played material ranging from Blur to Los Lobos to Roy Orbison and the Beatles, James Brown and The Killers... and this amp has been good to me through every tune.

One thing to mention is the weight and size of the amp.. it does have that classic AC30 shape.. unfortunately it also has most of the weight! Not recommended for anyone needing a small amp that can be transported easily. I'd much rather lug around my actual AC30 if I need something 2x12.

It takes pedals well if you take the time to use the EQ to make this a more "neutral" tone from which to start.

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Had an AC15C1 which was all tube, but I needed more clean headroom. The AC30VR gives great volume and great tube tone without compromising your pocket. A great choice if you cant afford the AC30 all tube package. If you're familiar with Vox tone, you can definitely achieve this with the VR technology. Its not preloaded with gimmicky effects or loaded down with extras, which is no problem for me because I have pedals for that. There is no effects loop BUT contrary to other reviews, I have had absolutely no issues tweaking my pedals to cooperate with this rig. Plenty of volume, plenty of tone. And 3 handles on top make carrying this equipment easier than my previous 2x12 cabinet. Recommend for the serious traveling musician. Yes it can handle the live venues and events. I havent used the OD channels yet, the normal channel gives me warm sounds and aggressiveness like a true tube amp, just the way I like it.

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp was exactly what I expected. Traded an AC15C1 in because I needed more clean headroom but still wanted true Vox tone with a vintage tube feel. This amp certainly does the trick, giving me good volume at venues for the half the price of an all tube AC30. It has a 12AX7 tube in the preamp section, which gives a good warm presence. Weight isnt that bad either, which was another concern of mine. I don't use the OD channels, and even though some complain that it doesnt have an effects loop, it takes my processor and OD pedals very well. You can combine the onboard EQ with your guitar's tone settings to create the perfect sound that you're looking for. Very satisfied and this will be a great addition to any serious guitar player's traveling rig.

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Greetings earthlings! The AC30VR is not an AC30 tube amp, but what it is...an AC30 with an overdrive and tone boost added. After replacing the too bright and very harsh chinese tube with a tung-sol, the amp's tone warmed up nicely. I play fender guitars through the amp and its great for accompaniment chording and clean country pickin. The OD 1 and 2 allow for loud rock, metal, punk drive. the amp can be heard more fully 3 meters away rather than right up close. Odd observation eh? I picked mine up used for less than retail price. the amp helps me become a better player. I can hear myself clearly and cleanly, mistakes and poor technique are not hidden in smooth tube response. A great Travis style players amp. Reverb is a little thin and an effects loop I/O would have added so much more vesatility. Overall, buy an AC30CC1,AC30CC2, 0r AC30HW if you going to run full volume. If not, the AC30VR is a unique and exciting amp to play through, costs less, weighs less, and sounds great!

      A powerhouse for sure

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've heard some complaints about this amp, and to be frank I've yet to see it. The volume is very loud, with the Gain/clean control volume wide open the master volume need not go past 12 o'clock before paint begins to peel. the tone is, when cranked very tube-y sounding and is very consistent with the top notch quality of the pathfinder series. the master volume allows you to achieve a great tube sound at low volumes by cranking the volume on the channel eq. The rear panel features a ext cab jack which when utilized with a 412 cab produces an unparalleled sound in that price range. With the vox name comes an unquestionable pedigree that can better tell you of the quality and durability of this amp than I could, but if given a single word, I would say Though. As fare as applications is concerned, I've used it for just about anything provided your willing to play with the eq a bit.

Comments about Vox AC30VR Valve Reactor 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for a month now and Im loving it. It can over power the drums on clean. If that is not loud for you then you can plug in 30watt speakers in the back. One thing is dont try to use a distortion pedal. I tried a metal and a dod distortion pedal and it doesnt like them. The amp is about 50 pounds but its not that hard to move around. Bottom line this amp rocks and fits my needs.
