Overview

Vox Custom Series amps offer two channels: Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. This powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control, letting you dial in a classic sound that is all your own.

Both channels rely on the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, the Custom Series can deliver everything from a clean Vox "chimey" sound to a powerful overdriven tone.

Sound in Motion
You can sweeten the sound of your Custom Series amplifier using the Vox Classic Tremolo effect. Both the speed and the depth are adjustable, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. A warm Spring Reverb is also included on all Custom Series amps, adding spaciousness to the sound. All Custom Series amps can use the Vox VFS2 footswitch, allowing you to turn the Reverb and Tremolo effects on and off as you continue to play.

Power Sharing
The AC15 combo makes use of three 12AX7 preamp tubes and uses pair of EL84 tubes to drive a single 12" Celestion Alnico Blue speaker. It offers a switchable 8/16 ohm output jack for powering an external speaker cabinet when you need to speak with a little more authority; using this jack will mute the internal speakers. Additionally, a second extension speaker jack allows you to run an extra 16 ohm cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound.

Comments about Vox AC15C1X 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been playing off and on for 50 years for my enjoyment. I have had several amplifiers. All of them have been good, but this amp allows you to have it all, chimey tone, tremolo, reverb, and overdrive that you can play at a reasonable volume level or cranked. I had a popular 15 watt Fender Amp and it was okay but it had nowhere near the versatility that this amp has. I am very happy.

Comments about Vox AC15C1X 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Was planning on a Fender 65 twin but could not spend that much for playing at home.Bought the Ac 15c1x for about half and glad I did.I play at home these days and have been playing a lot of music by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. This amp is really clean for songs like American Girl and can dial in just enough gain for Mary Janes last dance. If only my playing was that good. The clean headroom and volume are more than enough.I am 65 yrs old and play for fun but I have an American Deulxe telecaster and wanted a good amp for the high end guitar.Tube amps and especially the Vox are now my amps of choice.

Comments about Vox AC15C1X 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Absolutely beautiful sounding amp! Beautiful clean tones that sound like a bell being rung. It has this gritty overdrive distortion that sounds exactly like the intro to my generation with it all the way turned up. The one thing about this amp though… This isn't your typical amplifier. It does not have a full EQ. You get bass and eyes… That's it. Vox has this idea that if you are buying a Vox amp, Then you are buying it for those beautiful clean British tones. Do you want distortion? Then you're going to need a peddle … But I'm telling you, the distortion pedal through a beautiful clean clear sounding amp like this is absolutely amazing! I use this for recording guitar sounds through a sure 57 microphone and it is second to none the very best amplifier I have heard at loud volumes. However this amp is a very Music specific amp. If you're going to have a repertoire of music that you were going to be playing, you are absolutely going to need a distortion pedal and an effects board! Keep in mind that there's also no line out on this amp… And no headphone out Jack… This thing is made for one purpose and one purpose only… And that is To be played very loudly. Both your clean and distortion channels have distorted tones in them with the volume past five. So there might be some times where you have to turn the volume down on your guitar… Again, in the studio this isn't a big deal. But live this is going to take some getting used to. Not a big enough deal to doc any points off but needed to be said compared to its competition
