Overview

The AC10C1 is an all-tube 10-watt amplifier that joins Vox's flagship lineup of tube amps, the Custom Series. More portable than the AC15 and more powerful than the AC4, the AC10C1 provides an array of classic Vox tones and comes equipped with studio-quality reverb and a master volume.

The AC10 was one of the first amplifiers to bear the Vox name and was available only for a short period of time in the early 1960s. Long adored for its ability to achieve rich, articulate tube tone at very manageable volumes, the AC10 has become a highly coveted piece of Vox history since its discontinuation in 1965.

It features a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes, along with a pair of EL84 power-amp tubes to produce that legendary Vox tonal flavor on its way through the single 10 in. Celestion VX10 speaker.

  • Power: 10W (tube)

Luscious-sounding amp!!

By Rock 'n Blues 57

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp sounds absolutely incredible! I think the 10 inch speaker breaking up at lower volume levels has a lot to do with it. Played my Telecaster through it last night when jamming with friends- and it is just awesome. Using the lead pickup with my Tele really cuts through without being "ice-picky". Haven't used it with a drummer full-on yet, but we'll see. If I have to, I'll mic it- it sounds that good. Also very portable- easy to load/unload. I might still purchase the AC15 later to fill the larger venue needs, but for now this thing will get it done. Just LOVE THE TONE!!!

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Just what I expected. Perfect size and weight. Has great tone even at lower volumes. He low quality tubes are beginning to show themselves after about 10 to 20 hours. Disapointing but at the price of this amp you can install premium tubes of your choice and still have a remarkable value. So far I like the factory speaker, very versatile but there are a wide variety of speakers available to suit any taste. Digital reverb, in my opinion, is worth the trade for weight and size of th ac15. Overall great sounding, portable change up from my fender super sonic 60-12. Oh yeah the British racing green is even cooler than the picture. It is the hit of the Christmas program with the red Tele and ugly Christmas sweater guitar strap.

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

The Vox AC10-C1 Amp is a stellar amp! I recently traded it up from a Fender Champion 100 and even though the price difference wasn't that big the sound is light years ahead. Even for a smaller 10 Watt All Tube amp it still packs a punch and only gets better the louder you crank it up. The onboard digital reverb is nice but its really ficky and if you give it just a little it takes off. Again you could buy a reverb pedal and a Tremelo and it would cost the same as this amp. One of the best features is that it can connect to a Cab so you can still get that great sound from it, but have a bigger louder volume. Id recommend this to anyone whos interested in trying out a Vox Amp but doesn't want to get a cheapie or doesn't want to spend the money for a AC-30. Also the British Racing Green look is absolutely killer!

Great amp

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

If you don't turn it off between sets, it will get too hot and blow a fuse. I am cutting a rear port in mine to make it an opened back. Also, its SO much better with a Greenback.

What a great little amp!

By Jimbohnji

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I play a gretsch 5420t through a line 6 m16 for effects with a bondi sick as overdrive. The clarity in leads is great each note runs together well, cleans sound great not too bright, the breakup sounds very nice and the absence of a mid knob was interesting but turns out to be really great. I'm very pleasantly surprised at the depth of tone of this amp considering it's just a single 10" speaker. Overall I'm really glad I picked this little guy up!

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Love this amp! It sounded good, but after replacing the tubes with JJ's, it sounds awesome. I play a LP Studio with 57's through a Dirty Rat and the little Vox does the job nicely at lower volumes. I main keep the volume down, but boy can this sucker get loud. Great amp, great price for the Vox sound.

Comments about Vox AC10C1 Classic Limited Edition 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Vox AC10C1 is the perfect amp! A match for Telecasters, Strats, Gibson's, PRS, Ibanez, etc,.
Got reverb, got tubes, and very durable. I grabbed the green British Limited Edition and it has
been very popular in my studio.
