Great amp... OUTSTANDING value!

I've been playing for 20 years and I've owned a lot of guitars and amps and let me tell you... this thing is VERY impressive, esp for the money. I'm not going to waste your time trying to convince you that this has the power of a modded Marshall half stack or that it has a warmer or deeper sound than than your favorite Fender Twin, but it is a very versatile and very mature product. Strengths: Flexability! All those models and all those effects combinations. Techy guys will be distracted for hours. The presets are OK, but I think you really need to get in there and do some tweaking to find the best sounds. Good range of amp models to play with... They may not all impress every user, but there is an impressive range. Most of the effects are very usable and you have control over several parameters unlike most other amps at this price point. Weaknesses: Limited effects combinations. I'd really like a delay and reverb at the same time. And it can't quite keep up with a drummer really doing his thing. I haven't had any issues with the input jack. Comparisons: Compared to the Line 6 Spider II 12"... well... it isn't really a comparison. Other than sheer volume, the Vox owns. MUCH more natural and weightier sound. Effects are better and you have more control over them. With the Line 6, on Insane with the gain maxed, you get great sustain, but little else. It seems like a beginner's toy compared to the Vox. The Fender Frontman might sound slightly better on the 'clean but almost breaking up', but can't match the versatility and you'll need a decent distortion box. Basically, if you are over 16 years old and looking for a very respectable amp that is very easy to lug around and has a lot of versatility because you play more than just the Metallica sound, this is your amp!

The VOX AD30VT Is a great value

I own the VOX AD30VT amp and they do a decent job of coming close to modeling a real AC15 or AC30TB and nine other amps. The eleven built in effect are decent except the auto-wah and you can edit each effect parameter three different ways. The 10" speaker combined with an amp output of 30RMS is louder than you would expect, and you can wake the neighbors with this thing for sure. The AD30VT has the same valvetonix engineering and modeling plus effects as its bigger brother the AD100VT except no loop. I believe this amp is the best value for the price range. I bought it, I like it, I guess that's what's really important right?

BEST AMP FOR THE PRICE

I wasn't sure about this amp at first because my friend had the same one. I looked and looked and i simply could not find a better amp for the price. The 11 built in effects and different amp styles are great. Also being able to turn down the wattage is useful. Even using my really crappy guitar it makes the guitar sound 10 times better. Absolutely no regrets.

Here's the scoop on this amp. Take the Vox Tone Lab modeler and put a 30 Watt amp and speaker behind it (with a real tube in the output section) and you have one flexible great sounding amp. There is even an attenuator in the output so you can drive the tube hard for cool distortion sounds but keep the volume low. The amp does Fender clean to Marshall heavy and is an excellent amp to begin with if you are just getting started. There are also all of the popular pedal effects included. Again this amp sounds great, is very flexible and won't break the bank.

Surprising Tone of Tones

After blowing up a little Line 6, my salesman at the GC in Highland Park, IL suggested this killer. Great amp emulations, excellent FX, and flexibility. Solid & well made, it "feels" solid and will surprise even the most jaded players. Two presets for clean/dirty, and has an off/on for FX. Give this little monster a test ride ASAP!
