Awesome deal
I have never been too happy with modeled tones, but somehow the AD100VTH is different. It sounds like real power tubes to me. I've used POD and Johnson modelers as well as amp modeling software and while Line 6 and the others make some great products and you can get some great tones, there was something missing. They always sound to me like a good tone amplified by a solid state power section. I dont know how Vox did it, but I dont hear that here. I just hear tube. It's responsive and feels like an all tube amp.
I like that it's pretty simple too. Just use a regular two button footswitch and youve got your rythmn and lead channels, say an AC30 for rythmn and a JCM800 for leads- hows that? Love it.
My 4.5 on the "Features" was due to the effects section being somewhat limited. It does have an acceptable reverb, compression, flange, chorus, etc, etc. But my problem is I cant figure out how to use compression and reverb simultaniously. I might need to dig in the manual. The amp is easy to use so I havent read it much.

Vox AD100VTH is hot.
I purchased the Vox AD100VTH and took it from the store and out to a gig that night. I matched it with a 4x12 Crate 1/2 stack. The head performed perfectly and it sounded great with the Crate 1/2 stack. I need to work with the head for awhile to hear the different settings and amp styles, but it is easy to use and requires very little prior amp experience in order to get it to sound just right.

Unbeatable
This amp is spectacular, and for the price it's unbeatable. The 11 different amp models sound great, and cover every aspect of music. Whether your into blues, rock, or metal the Vox AD100VTH Valvetronix Amp Head delivers great tube simulation tone. Play it with a decent cab and you'll get the results you want; it's also loud due to the 100-watts. Iv'e looked at Line 6, Crate, Marshall, B-52, Randall, and Peavey but none of them fully satisfied me, This amp really stands out above the rest.....

Vox Valvetronix 100w head
Where do I begin? I bought this amp because my crate failed on me and I needed a new one. The first reason I bought it for was its price. 399$ for a modeling amp? and VOX? I thought it was to good to be true. When I first got it I tested out all the models. They are great! This is the amp for you whether you want to play metal, rock, blues, grunge or, WHATEVER!There are also many effects on it. The reverb chours flanger and comp are the greastest and the wah is so-so. Whoever you are, if you have the money, buy this amp! P.S. way better than Crate!

great great great
the effects are amazing and the many sounds you can get out of it are just the same. i would reccommend getting the footswitch but footswitch or not its an amazing amp. has 100 watts of power so its good for shows [depending on the size] and at home practice if you cant afford a cab. i hook mine up with the vox v412 cab and it has sounds anywhere from a crystal clear clean sound to a great distortion. you can turn this amp all the way and not lose any sound quality. perfect for anything.
