A ruggedly designed footswitch for the VT15 and VT30.

The Vox VFS5 5-Button Footswitch is an essential accessory for the Vox Valvetronix VT15 and VT30 amps. The VFS5 footswitch employs a tough steel design with traditional mechanical foot switches and an extra-long 5-meter integral jack lead. The Vox VFS5 footswitch currently works only with the following Vox Valvetronix amplifiers: VT15, VT30, VT50, and VT100.

  • Great footswitch despite the circumstance

As reviewed by Jeff Halterman on 2/12/2011

So I just received this footswitch less than a week ago and when I picked it up it seemed quite sturdy (like a BOSS pedal, that type of sturdy). No directions or anything; take the (rather long) cord, plug it in, save a few programs you like, and you're good to go without having to change everything by hand on the amp. The only downside was that the 3rd channel button (2nd button from the right) didn't work. I can see on the amp when the lights change from green to red (for the banks) and from channel to channel, but the 3rd one is busted. I'll be replacing it immediately because I'm happy with it and Vox hasn't steered me wrong with the VT15 yet. A must buy if you have the VT15, VT30, VT50, or VT100.

  • Must-have if you own a VT+ series amp

As reviewed by Donna Price on 12/31/2012

If you want to use any of the Vox VT+ series amps, you really need this. I only gave it a four star raiting because a) it really should come with the amp. And b) there is only a light on the footswitch for the bank (green or red)and not for the individual channels. Even though there are lights for this on the amp, it would be nice to have them on the footswitch as well. All in all however, it's a necessity if you have a VT+ amp.

  • Simple, durable preset selection switching, sans notification

As reviewed by C. Michael Pilato on 12/13/2011

If you're familiar with the amps with which this footswitch is designed to interoperate, one glance at the switch itself will reveal the totality of its purpose and functionality. The switch buttons align conceptually with the preset selection buttons on the amp itself. As such, there's a near-zero learning curve: if you can figure out how to work the VOX amp preset buttons, you can use this footswitch. The switch itself is well built, and I fully expect it to last a good long time. I especially like that the switches themselves are easily depressed, lacking the "snapping" click threshold found in similar footswitches. The only thing that this device lacks is LED notification. I naturally assumed that the switch would "tell me" which bank/channel combination was currently selected, but it doesn't -- you get nothing by way of state feedback. On reflection, I couldn't really convince myself of the necessity of such a thing, and much prefer the lower cost over this extended functionality (which couldn't behave in isolation, given that preset selection can also happen on the amp itself).
